Luke should be because chances are no worthwhile coach will come with the sanctions looming.....

I guess the main thing is, I don't really think he is a threat to leave if he does not get the job in the next few days.

Better to not make a snap hire. That being said, listening to him at his speech, he clearly loves Ole Miss.

It would rival Mizzou's hiring of Barry Odom

If Fitz hadn't gone down in the first, so would you have.

You idiots are still Ole Miss. If you think you'll get someone better than Matt Luke, then you're just freaking delusional. With the many infractions and the inevitable major decline at Ole Miss, Matt Luke will probably be by far the best you're gonna get. Be happy with that because no other coach will touch your program with a 10 foot pole. Real shite.

I don't even care anymore. They're going to get probation of some sort, which will prevent any major player taking the job, especially with 5 other SEC jobs open. Ole Miss has already been knocked down with the 3 year investigation, Freeze getting fired in the process. The program has been set back 5+ years regardless of what happens. Yes, I hate ole miss, haven't tried to keep that a secret ever, but I also think ole miss fans are delusional if they think a legit candidate would want that job as it compares to other job openings right now.

I also find it weird some Ole Miss fans are recently confident nothing major will happen.

wow! Sounds exactly like the LSU hire of O. He wants it so he must be the best choice.

Maybe take the entire post into account and stop building strawmans, just a thought.

There's no denying he has things clicking now. I'm just saying that OM hiring Luke may or may not be the laziest hire.

You better hire him before Tennessee or Florida does.

No they didn't. The State team they played didn't go almost the whole game with a new QB.

I don't know why Ole Miss fans act like it would be lazy. I think it's quite delusional that you believe a real candidate would want the job with the sanctions. You're not Alabama and there are a ton of P5 jobs open this year for teams that won't be on probation

I don't like piling on teams when they are down, but you put it as nicely as anybody could...and it is true. Every word you said is true, whether they want to accept it or not.

In fiarness, Odom's hiring is not looking quite as bad right now. He's on a nice little win streak....granted against lesser teams, but many on here thought thye might now win more than 2-3 games this entire year earlier.

Well it’s either hire Luke now or get shut down by everyone else then hire him . Your next hire is a dead man walking and is almost certain to be fire in 3-5 years because of the coming penalties from the NCAA.
