They did learn the harsh lesson that joining a new conference not having a single rival with you and being on the geographical edge of a conference is a deadly mix.
Of course Nebraska went and one upped them 20 years later despite having Arkansas been a harbinger of things to come for them.
Texas and OU are fine because A&M and Arkansas are already here.

I honestly dont know how, with the talent we had, we lost ourt last ten games a year ago. I have never in my 65 yrs of watching seen a team hit with so much bad arse luck. You might loose a game every five years where you fumble a ball inside the 20, with less than two minutes left , and we it twice in a row. And other close games against good teams.
