They did it to get his Top 100 TE brother while adding depth/experience in the QB room they were severely lacking. Odd flex.

Extremely shortsighted take. You absolutely can take transfers just for depth. As we saw last year, you can be down to third string with just a few injuries. Even if Johnson never takes a snap as a starter doesn’t mean he’s a failure, he adds depth and thats hopefully all we need out of him with king and Weigman on the roster as well.
