A&M is this great destination, why haven't they won anything since a few months after Hitler invaded Poland.

Well, an all-male, established military culture until 1963 and females not being allowed to live on campus until 1972, was likely a recruiting deterrent for a lot of young, red blodded Anerican males. Nothing to back that up, just a hunch.

That said in 2023, given the available resources, it is a mystery why they cannot find sustained success.

Aggie and Texas are one in the same. Tons of money. Able to recruit. Boosters meddle too much in the program. High expectations every season which end up imploding. Lather, rinse, repeat.

About like the Detroit Lions.

But less impressive.

There is no argument. We do have the exact same problem.

It’s been mitigated with the hiring of Chris Del Conte as AD, and the passing of a certain BMD. But Texas and A&M will always be under the thumbs of big money and politics.

Yeah true but don't think for a second that if Sark falls behind the Aggies in the SEC that we won't drop his arse and try to go big to outdo them on the next hire.
The rest of the SEC is going to get a kick out of watching Texas and Texas a&m try to outspend each other.

Personally, I think there’s a few coaches that are out there that could take A&Ms resources and make A&M win ten or more games each season.

STFU. Yall said the same about Jimbo and look at yall now. $75 million down the drain and yall didn't do shite but have 4-5 loss seasons every year even though yall thought Jimbo was good.

Unless you have Saban, expect more of the same from the next coach that you did with Saban. Your football program is mediocre as frick. No ifs ands or buts about it. Deal with it.

You're going to see some big time spending wars between Aggie and Texas. There's no amount of money that either won't spend to try to stay ahead of the other

A&M’s gotta get the donors out of the locker room and the coaches offices or they don’t have a chance. The same problem there has existed at auburn for years just on a grander scale.
Tuberville and yella fella had a tough relationship. Raine was on the sideline for every game and tubs said he noticed he kept getting closer to him game by game until the day he started telling him what plays he needed to run. The Dallas cowboys have the same problem. Facilities, money, support are not the problem. People forcing themselves into the day to day operations who aren’t football people are.

You're absolutely correct. We have the exact same problem. Don't think for a second that we wouldn't have hired Urban Meyer and paid him silly money had he agreed to come. When it comes to football operations Aggie and Texas are more alike than either side will ever admit.

Because the situation that he describes has only been in existence for a decade or two.

People revel in calling us the "little brother" of t.u., but the more accurate description would be "unwanted step-brother." For most of our history, the Texas Legislature has treated A&M as the "red-headed stepchild," to the "golden child" in Austin. As just one example, until VERY recently, they got twice our state funding.

Most colleges do. NFL facilities not great
Make fun of us as much as you want. In many ways, it is not totally inaccurate.

But there are not a half-dozen university athletic programs in the entire country that can compare to our facilities.

A&M’s money recruits for A&M
How come that money can’t buy a 10-win season? Or win the West? Dumbass
Because there are things that money CAN do, and things that money alone CANNOT do.

Money can buy players and coaches. It can build facilities.

But it cannot buy cohesion, teamwork or heart. It is the latter that we have been lacking recently. That stupid-assed "slide" dance that bench receiver Jahdae Walker did after his TD last night was a perfect example of the "me first, look at me" attitude that has plagued this team for at least a decade.

He is a damned bench-warmer. He scored a garbage-time TD against the 2nd-worst team in the SEC. And he acted like he had just punched-in the game winner in a national championship game. That is NOT "team."
