This not the first time Pearl cheated & got caught. And what are the odds that he only cheated 2 times & got caught both times? And I am not a biased LSU / Wade fan. If's Wade's violations are provable & as bad as they seem to be, I have little problem with any penalties the NCAA hands down. But Arizona needs to get hammered, too.

bro Auburn is one of the worst P5 programs in NCAAB traditionally and we have gone to two tournaments (would have been three without COVID); won the SECT and SEC regular season titles; and went to the final 4.

We are riding unprecedented highs. Even if this season was NIT caliber it’s still way better than our average

But they have. Any Auburn fan even considering this thought is being highly reactionary and irrational. Bruce Pearl is the only reason your program has more tournament appearances than last place finishes in the SEC in the last 30 years.

How do you not know what you're going to get? He's been in trouble at every single job he's ever had. You're going to get sanctions. 100% guaranteed.

I would take him as our BB coach in a New York minute. We have always had a rich recruiting bed for football and basketball but never anyone to harvest the potential basketball bounty.

I don't care if he cheats or does not....but do people realize how weak of an argument this is?

I mean, the bank down the road got robbed. I have no idea how they did it, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Is it though? The only cheating Bruce has been found guilty of is providing food to players on an unofficial visit, yet people who don’t even follow basketball spout the same, inaccurate “Bruce has a history of cheating at every stop” nonsense.

I was not arguing that he was guilty of cheating or that Auburn had done anything wrong. Simply that the argument was a poor one. And it is.

You don't have to understand how something was done for it to have been done.

A simple, "There has been no proof of his cheating." is a much stronger argument. I mean, let's face it....they all cheat in basketball just like they all do in football. Asking "how" they do it? Who cares?

ETA
FWIW, I have seen Georgia fans use the same argument.

Pearl was hit with a 3 year show - cause penalty as the HC at Tenn. As was his staff. While his penalty was tied primarily to his repeatedly lying to the NCAA, his staff was also guilty of "numerous recruiting violations". So that would make 2 times he had a "rouge" assistant on his staff. A coincidence? If you believe that the "illegal" bar bq at his house was just that, & nothing more was involved, you are naive.

Disagree. You know exactly what you are getting with Pearl. He has a clear track record.
