I think there is no better year to give the trophy to a defensive player.

there really isn't one player on offense that grabs it...sure Klein is head and shoulders above the field statistically, but he is a poor man's Tim Tebow.

The problem then is who do you pick there...screw it. Just give it to Barrett Jones.

Klein is the only reason his team is undefeated to this point. He deserves it up to now imho.

Barret Jones is good, but not that good.

I agree...but he is just not exceptional at all. It is just an extremely weak year

I dont want to be a homer, but if Te'o is up there shouldn't Jarvis Jones be also?

I know he wouldn't win or be in the Top 3, but Top 10 isn't out of the question to me.

McCarron? Really? I didn't know the Heisman is awarded to a played based on being competent. He's good at running his offense, but he is a steward, nothing more. You really need to get off the Alabama circle jerk if you think he's going to win the Heisman. Just because Bama is really good doesn't mean every individual player on the team is the best in the country at their position.

God this is getting old.

I'm just saying that watching him play, he is not a Heisman QB.
Because LSU fans know good QB's?

He looked less impressive after the first 16 minutes when our fricking defense decided to arrive at the game. We blew more coverages tonight than I have seen all year. He looked very accurate in general though, not many guys have the ability to throw it like that to all areas of the field as well as he does.

Thanks, we never would have been able to run our O without your blown coverages

McCarron is the best player on the best team.

Whatever individual that is every season gets invited to the ceremony and wins about half the time.

Don'tyou wish you guys had a steward? For that matter don't you wish y'all had one in the last three years, or maybe a coach that could develop just an average QB.

He is the best QB in the country and he does against the best talent in the country every week. The Heismen is a fricking joke most of the time.

AJM is indeed a good QB, but all the press about his O-line being a "NFL line" is taking attention (and votes) away from his playmaking capabilities. All we hear about is how awesome the O-line is....and with that, people tend to imagine most QB's (except for Mett ) would have the same stats that AJM does.

With his O-line getting a "rub-and-tug" by the media and his WR's and RB's putting on a show with tight routes and downhill running, I just don't see the exceptional plays solely owned by AJM like we see from the Oregon running backs or from K-State's dual threat QB. Seems the voters have the same sentiment.

Braxton Miller had a sick play tonight

LINK

He'll likely be in NYC, but I think Klein wins it easily as of now

Is Kansas State really a top-3 football team?

That depends on whether or not the Big 12 is a quality football conference.

If you want to give the Heisman based on sheer numbers, you have to give it to Barber of Oregon.

If you have the candidates based on what they mean to the team, it should be:

1. Klein
2. McCarron
3. Barber
4. Te'O
5. Manziel

Braxton Miller should be as ineligible as his team is.

Ever heard of Gino Toretta or Chris Weinke? McCarron does more for Bama then they did for their teams, but they lead their teams to titles. McCarron is a big reason for Bama's success this year.

The kid is good and playing at a high level.

You have blinders on if you don't think he's in the mix.

I haven't seen anyone predicting AJ to win. If he keeps leading us to victories, he'll be there but IMO, he won't win because we have more weapons than KSU. I know he's not the best player in CFB but he'll be in NY and just being invited is an honor.

BTW, someone mentioed earlier in this thread that this is the weakest class of heisman contenders. Didn't everyone say that Ingram only won because he was in a weak class? AJ is a great QB but some here fail to realize that or they're just blinded by the hate.

I still think Gearhart should have won that year for Stanford.

Other people did as well which is why it was the closest heisman vote in history. IMO, both were great in CFB with great stats.

I don't think Te'o should be getting as much contention of he is. He's good, but not sure he'd Heisman good.

I truly think Johnny Football should be near the top of the list. He's putting up video game numbers and we are past the halfway point so its not like he's surprising South Carolina State. He did it to Arkansas, Ole Miss, & La Tech. Even in a loss he put up better #s vs LSU than any team has all year.

If Notre Dame keeps winning, the Heismen is Te'o's.

He'll finish a close 2nd IMO but the award is Klein's to lose.
