Has there been a bigger Faux program than Texas Football last 2 years?

In the past 15 years, I don't think Texas would crack a top 10 program list, or would be close to 10. Imo, Texas was never a threat to ACTUALLY win a Nati when they were in the Semi's last 2 years. Very similar to 2019 Oklahoma, nobody actually thought they'd win the Nati when they were in the Semi's. My reasoning? Look who they played up to that point. Big 12 first time. Then 2nd time, Texas finished with 0 ranked wins in regular season. 0. Nada. They only played 1 single team that finished top 25, Georgia, and they lost 2x. Their SEC schedule was entirely the bottom half. 7 of their 8 games finished bottom 8 in the SEC. An intelligent college football fan saw right through their 2023 schedule, then their 2024 schedule.
When they actually played UGA at home, they shite their pants. That's when I really knew. I had data points from the easy vs difficult.
Texas has been a faux program for the past 2 years, and it diminishes the value of the league to gift them this super easy first 2 year SEC schedule.. Sadly it won't be exposed next yr either (aside from OSU, UGA, and Florida) because they again have the entirety of the bottom half of the SEC on their schedule. 7 of 8 of their 2025 Fall SEC opponents finished in the bottom 8, or bottom half, of the 2024 SEC standings. So they play 88% of the bottom half of the SEC, and play 12% of the top half of the SEC.
It won't be until 2026 Fall that they finally play a real schedule. A true SEC gauntlet schedule. Texas has never to date, played an actual gauntlet. Never. Never in 90s, 00s, 10s, or 20s. 2026 will be their first year to, and it will be a blast.
I'm tired of the Faux Top 5 unearned rankings and getting exposed end of season. I want to see Texas play an actual SEC schedule. Don't get me wrong on the OOC this year. Playing at Ohio St is an absolute test. Huge test. But there is a reason I bet on all of their last 4 games of the year and won on all, pushed on 1.

That’s a nice little recap. Honestly, I couldn’t agree with you more. Texas was NEVER a serious contender to win a natty in football the last two years. It took a miracle comeback just to make the Washington game close in 2023. I like it though. It makes those UT@A get their little hopes up just to be smashed in front of their faces. As you said though, they’ll get the bottom 7 of the league again this year in football, they’ll beat their chest again like the last two years, say the SEC isn’t ready for them just to lose in the playoff like OU has been doing for the last decade. They’ll win a natty eventually in football if there is no handle on unchecked NIL. Even though, that will still take them another 5-10 years to do.

Shocker, another LSU fan with a small dick.

I grew up rooting for Texas in the Red River Rivalry because I always root for the underdog when my team isn't playing. I never knew they thought they were the big dogs until recently.

This is officially your 10th thread about the Texas Schedule in the last year. It's get fricking weird at this point, what makes LSU fans so insecure?

Yeah we went over this in your last thread. Please tell us how the LSU schedule is any more difficult than ours this year.

A&M and Florida weren't ranked either when they ran through your shite team.

Leave it to a Texas fan to be a meat gazer.

You could lump Missouri in there. Only played 2 ranked teams all year and lost both, and barely squeaked by Vanderbilt. Who allowed these trash arse schedules?

Woof, year 4 of BK and still not projected to be any better than the Aggies.
Compare those percentages with the OP's projections

Compare those percentages with the OP's projections
quote:
Upside: 12-0 Expected: 10-2 Downside: 9-3
Losses: @ Clemson and @ Bama. If we win on the road at Clemson week 1, 11-1 will be the record. I know it'd suck so bad to lose 6 straight home openers, but Clemson has top 5 talent, and it is on the road. Can't ask for a shittier week 1 matchup. Big donors needs to talk to AD/BK about that has to end. Luckily, I don't see any top 10 matchups after Clemson in '26.
10-2 with our schedule will get you a 1st round bye. Probably a 5 or 6 seed. That means very first CFP game in Baton Rouge, first ever in December? I don't know.
Chance to make CFP: 75%
Chance to make Nati game: 30%

There were some projecting we’d go 7-5 in 2019.

On one hand, you say Texas played no ranked teams in 2024 because none of their regular season opponents finished ranked to end the season
On the other hand, we’re already discounting their 2025 schedule based on rankings at the beginning of the season and not waiting until the end of the season like you did for the prior year?

appreciate the thesis. You left out the part where you say you never even "think" about texas

The OP is a little obsessed with texas. Can you imagine writing a thesis about another program other than our own?

No. Back-to-back final four appearances is not faux. Also, when the '26 schedule is released, I bet you're one of the first to whine about how easy it is.

Don’t know why you want to zero in on the past 2 years.
Because Texas has gone 5-7 four times since 2009

Yes, and I without a doubt know that I will be highly more accurate than ESPN FPI who had LSU as 3rd in FPI after their best season ever by a college team in 2019, ranked behind the team they blew out and had to kneel inside their own 5 yardline with 3 minutes left for mercy. You gotta be dumb to point to ESPN FPI as a standard. Like really dumb lol.
It will be a 3 way race between UGA, Bama, LSU in SEC this year. I'm clutching to pearls, you have full right to remember this end of season. But no right after Clemson as that is not on SEC record.

I live in Texas and am an LSU fan. I am outnumbered and coworker talk, along with a coworker who played TE at Texas in past, is what makes me not like them. Same with TAMU.

FPI list Texas as the clear-cut #1 team with both the best offense and defense in America. FPI is a perfect formula as we all know.
