Meh it's kind of a push.

We have 10 overall conference championships to Alabama's 7. Bama has more NCAA tourney appearances. MSU has made it to a Final 4.

They are pretty close but Alabama gets the edge I didn't know ya'll had so many tourney appearances.

no

You're counting Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association and Southern conference championships for MSU? Seems irrelevant since OP stated "SEC" program, and also misleading since you didn't count Bama's also.

SEC championships:
MSU- 6
Bama- 9

SEC tourney champs:
MSU - 3
Bama- 6

NCAA tourney:
MSU- 10
Bama-20

Sweet Sixteen:
MSU- 3
Bama -8

Elite Eight:
MSU-1
Bama-1

Final Four:
MSU=1
Bama-0

Head to head
Bama- 114
MSU- 72

Bama has a winning SEC record against all original SEC teams except UK.
Bama has more SEC tourney titles than any other SEC team except UK.

I just went by Wikipedia's data on "overall conference championships" for both teams fwiw.

Some schools are top heavy with 1 really good sport (Alabama, UK)

Just a couple of quick questions for you.

Which school is second to only UK in all time SEC basketball wins and Tournament titles and third in all time regular season basketball titles?

Which school leads the SEC in all time conference baseball wins and trails only LSU in regular season and tournament titles?

I'll give you a clue, it is one of the two you mentioned.

It surprises me that Auburn can't field a better baseball team. They have a great stadium and that campus seems perfect to recruit good baseball players.

I can see how Auburn could struggle to recruit basketball players.

It's actually amazing going from a MNC in football to an all around doormat sports program in such short time.

Saint Gus won't be changing that any time soon.

It isn't "kind of a push" between Alabama and Mississippi State. In fact, the only area that it is the 6 SEC regular season titles each school has. Alabama has 6 SEC tourney titles to State's 4. Alabama has 20 NCAA tourney appearances to State's 10. Alabama has 8 Sweet 16 appearances to State's 3. Alabama is 30th all time in all time wins and winning percentage and State isn't even in the top 50. Alabama also holds a 114-72 all time head to head record against State. Unless you're claiming that State's 1 Final Four compared to Alabama's 1 Elite Eight completely all that then it isn't "kind of a push".

Up until Franklin we have sucked in football but we have for the most part been more than respectable in basketball and baseball.

Certainly the worst program of 2012-2013.

If the football team struggles again next season, they might very well be spiraling toward a permanent seat in the SEC athletic cellar.

You have to look at time frames... clearly the last two years, we would be at the bottom.... Beyond that time frame, you would say that many programs are below Auburns....
