We had a great cross division game, cock bro. Almost always competitive. Always a lot of fun.
Never forget what they stole from us.
Never forget what they stole from us.

They do need to fix the transfer portal / NIL issues that are effectively creating one-year free agents, there's a reason the pro leagues don't let that happen. And they need to stop cramming as many commercials into broadcasts as possible (this is the one thing that will push me away if it keeps getting worse).
The adults in the room were always going to be the ones who finished college football off. There wasn't a chance that these greedy folks were going to regulate themselves for the sake of the game or anything less noble, unless they were made to do it. History says it, and 4 years of NIL without guardrails have proven it.

Yet, here you are on a Monday of week one, on a sports forum

College football hasn't been innocent for a long, long time. Y'all seem to think players in the past like Cam Newton had loyalty to their school. That's a laugh. They went to the school that either paid them the most under the table or would get them to the NFL the easiest.
Definitely not saying you’re wrong, but it wasn’t as rampant then as it was now. And technically it was against the rules, so there was at least the illusion of fairness, even though we know it was going on under the table to certain played. But back then it was like 10% of players getting paid under the table. Now it’s 90% and it’s flamboyant to the point that there’s obviously no one playing for loyalty to a college, town or state. It’s all about themselves at this point.

Your team had an impressive multi year losing streak and you claim modern CFB is a bad product?
That proves his point, rather than refuting it. Even when SC was unwatchable and wasn't worthy of support, it was still supported because of what it was. That "what it was" has now changed to such a degree as to make the pageantry and interest in the game be lessened. The product isn't what it was, and not for the better. It's hard to get excited about it anymore.

*Loyalty to the Bag* via the portal killed CFB -
all unleashed by an NCAA that only cared to keep it's non-profit IRS standing after the Ed Obannon case was ruled upon - the NCAA gave the pyromaniac the matches and said have at it -
it's never coming back - it doesn't matter what courts or rules conferences are subject to -
in future years - there will only be a more perverted and derelict version of what we're witnessing this week -

I am actually excited this season since we kicked Hugh's sorry arse to the curb and hired Comrade Golesh.

CFB is more popular than any point in it's history. I am sorry you let internet trolls ruin your experience
