We laugh now but as a Mick Wop it was real back in the day. If you were Sicilian your immigration papers said black, not white. If you were Irish you were denied work that was available to black men.

Before World War II everybody ate oxtails as nobody could afford hamburger. Ironic as now oxtails are quite expensive when they used to be cheap all the way up to the 1980's. Same with neck meat of fowls in general.

Basically it is all the same food (and what I grew up on). Not sure who you are hanging with in the black community these days but I am getting pork butt, skillet cornbread, and chicken you slap your mama twice for.
