I agree. The greatest and certainly most dramatic play in National Championship history.

Factoid: BAMA had 6 true freshmen on the field on offense in the 4th quarter and OT. Including 2nd and 26, Tua to Smitty.

I think Vince Young against USC has an argument here.

I have obviously enjoyed Alabama’s run, but the insanity of the Texas - USC title game will be impossible to top. At least in my opinion. The hype and drama was amazing from afar and not being a fan of either. Just enjoyable to watch.

is this about the time the Gumps needed that miracle from Arkansas against Ole Miss to get into the SEC championship?

or is this about the time you had to cash in your Gump Mulligan because you could not earn your way into the SECCG?

A QB run into the endzone as opposed to a true freshman QB, who never started a college football game, just took a huge sack in the most critical situation of the game, picks himself up, with the pressure of the world on his shoulders, then with uncommon poise even for a senior, proceeds to look off a double high safety set and hits another true freshman on an incredible 2nd and 26 in OT for the NC? Please.

People seem to forgot that part of "the play"!

And don't forget to throw in the fact that unlike GA, we didn't have a field goal kicker. I don't know about you, but when he took that 16 yard sack, I thought it was over knowing we had no kicker. But that kid proved me and a lot people wrong!!

I'm with you and I'm sure coach Saban was feeling the same vibes as well. There's been nothing like it in my lifetime.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner.
I mean to take over at halftime when we had no push and to come in and lead them back to an OT thriller, wow.

I mean, he was one of the three total Heisman finalists, all of which balled that game, who had gained close to 500 yards and then made his play on 4th down to beat a team that had won 34 straight. Not to mention he proceeded to look off an all pro middle linebacker and then ran past a 13-year NFL vet.

But there's obviously big plays than just that one, or Devonta Smith's. Deshaun Watson's throw, Jameis Winston's game winning throw, Michael Dyer's late run, etc. etc.

It all seemed to happen so fast. It was like a punch in the gut when Tua got sacked, and then before I could even fully process the situation that that had put us in, the center snapped the ball, and the rest is history. Even Chris Fowler was slow on the call, because he was still talking about the sack.

Between Georgia, the Falcons, and the Braves all competing to see who can come up with the most creative ways to blow games/series, most of us are no longer capable of melting.
