1. Alabama doesn't cheat anymore(they did the first few years). Despite what people believe, they don't need to. Bama hasn't paid a player in years. Clemson does not either. They have enough proof of success that there is no need to offer money anymore and take a risk of being caught.

He's speaking of upfront $.

Excellent post.

No school is just handing out bags of cash. We know that for sure............

However, every single one of them has a very established network of outsiders ready to go at the drop of a hat.

This is true. I have seen how bama works today first hand. They signed a very highly rated kid from here who didn't pan out. Top 10 overall rating type player. Before he signed with bama, a local bama booster would let the kid have use of his beach condo every month. Said kid would have huge parties at the condo. Recruiting is still as slimy as it has always been. People have just gotten smarter about how to do it.

Not many teams actually pay.

No one person could really know that. Anyone who is good at cheating will conceal it well.

We all know UGA and UT is cheating. I don't think TAMU is. They are too sloppy, and would be busted by now with Jimbo. I can't wait until the dyke at UGA is busted with no rings to show for it.

Not sure why everyone thinks we're cheating. If we are then we definitely need to cheat harder. I like a lot of our prospects but this class isn't going to set the world on fire.

In for the Clemson not cheating part.

Don't see why. He didn't say LSU didn't cheat. He said Ed O doesn't. Former coaches doing something wouldn't automatically imply the next does.

I like Ed O. He's a funny/entertaining guy and quite likeable but when Kiffin fled in the night, Ed O. was the one picking our pocket on the way out. He was the one telling recruits and early enrollees not to go to class and he was the main reason UT had to call Verizon and get every phone for Kiffin's staff shut off instantly.

Not sure if it is where you were going, but I think the established programs recruit themselves to a large degree based on the success, exposure and increased NFL draft potential. With that comes a different aspect of player compensation as the elite talent is tempted by agents or delegates of agencies wanting to retain their services in the NFL.

I feel strongly that Saban spent a lot of time and Athletic Dept capital to crack down on the rougue booster aspect of attracting a kid to a school.

The rogue agent is technically still cheating, but is so common nowadays that it would be hard pressed to enforce and truly doesn't link the cheating to the school, a booster or any sort of designated rep of the school. It truly isn't pay to attend or pay to play... its pay to use our services at a point TBD in the future.

Seems as if the NCAA doesn't get real excited or energized to investigate nowadays, so long as it is the latter scenario.

Said LSU is clean. I asked directly and he said Ed isn't that kind of guy. Auburn as far as he knows has been as well.

Yep. Still stand by that. Chip signed then backed out to use us to force UCLA to his contract terms.

Kirby has a losing record against the West despite having the sixth highest ranking or better every single year (according to 247 Team Talent Composite).

If he coached at Mississippi State he would likely never bowl.

Intellectual dishonesty, folks. If you needed a quality example, straws is here to help you out.

You act like Mullen got Miss St bowl eligible on the backs of the SECw... when in fact it was generally a combination of:
4 soft OOC games - frequently CUSA, WAC, or FCS schools
1 permanent East game - Kentucky
win at least 1 more game - either from the rotating east opponent or in the west... Arkansas, Ole Miss, Auburn/LSU/aTm in a down year...

Yeah, Kirby clearly would have had trouble equaling Mullen's performance with that schedule configuration...

Never mind that his regular season record against the SECw is 50/50. We've won and lost 1 game against the SECw during the regular season every year with arguably the 2nd best team from the west over that 3 year stretch as our permanent west opponent (only team not named Alabama to make it to the SECCG)...

He's 2-0 against Dan Mullen...

Rather than running your mouth and appearing like a rumor spreading liar who worse, has let a CFB team get into your head why don't you man up. You feel strongly enough about this to possibly slander a player or coach or booster so go ahead and name the player and the booster as well as the recruiting coach and give the specific of the parties and exactly how you came to know all this.

I'm guessing you are again, spreading rumors you have no knowledge of which makes you a creep. Not only that but why have you not presented your case and proof to the NCAA and SEC. That would be the right thing to do and if I had specifics on an Auburn player/AU booster I would do that. But I don't have so I'm keeping my trap shut instead of coming off like a little turd.

I'm sure that happens. Though he said compliance is pretty strict at a lot of schools now. So not sure if they track boosters or not didn't get that far into it. Sure some stuff is done though.

Now that's a "weaker position"

Florida got passed up by Chip Kelly for UCLA and Scott Frost for Nebraska.

I don’t blame you for knighting for your coach because the alternative is to just stew in misery but try not to feign ignorance to such an obnoxious extent.
