I guess the real question is for the NCAA to determine if the $500 is significant, the university did what it was suppose to, and when it was actually repaid. Everything I have read always eludes back to the quoted part from the NCAA. That they are ineligible until they repay it and for anything over $100 the NCAA determines if more punishment is needed. If he he repaid it before the season then he should not be considered ineligible for any games he was in.

I do have a problem with him having a 2012 Dodge Charger AND THEN needing to borrow 500 dollars. How the frick does he have a car like that then need to borrow 500 bucks? How does he make the interest payments? Did he somehow pay cash for the car, but now needs 500 extra for stolen goods? Obviously you can read between the lines, but give me a fricking break.
he paid for the car with pell grant money, bro. the US government typically gives out that kind of extra cash to someone on a full ride

The coach shouldnt be fired
Ummmm... Yes he absolutely should be fired. There is zero room for any coach to knowingly commit an act that would put his team at risk of severe penalties especially a program like Alabama that is in position to win a National Championship.

Unless the NCAA camps out at UA like they did AU for 1 yr, I don't want to hear another bamer say anything about Cam, you cheaters.

Just looked it up and maximum pell grant per year is $5,645 for this year, then again I'm no pell grant expert.
ETA: This is federal. So you're saying State/University awards are that generous?

Saban is to old for another gig. If the shite hits the fan Saban will be done and throw everyone under the bus. And lets be honest for everything Saban is believed to be doing at UA than according to others on here and their logic he did it at LSU as well.
So this time next year UA and LSU fans can hang out and watch some other sport since both football teams are doomed.

i can go on autotrader and find a used 2012 challenger in alabama with 40k miles for $21000. with no down payment and a 5 year loan, and a current interest rate of 3% the payment is $377/month. you must suck at car shopping. ive got a beat up 07 honda fit you can buy, only $65,000. its a deal
you are assuming he bought the car last week. chances are he's had that for longer. if he bought it new, he was looking at closer to 30k after tax and title, which makes the rest of what you wrote irrelevant. and no, i didn't get jobbed, i actually paid 4 grand less than comparable cars were listed at any dealership within 75 miles of where i live. regardless, acting like he bought a car with pell grant money is fricking laughable. him getting approved for a loan as a student with no job, no co-signer, and no down payment is equally laughable

and i would guess every player on LSU with pell grant money doesn't use it for a car payment. they get their nice cars by way of improper benefits the same way most college players do.

Much less getting an interest rate of 3% on a used car. The state average with excellent credit on a used car loan up to 20k right now is 4.48%.... doubt he has any credit what so ever at this stage in his life.

OK... Cam's dad is a cheater and the SEC and the NCAA allowed it.

Wow, Cam really ruffled the bammer necks jimmies to no end. You don't like it when someone beats you at your own game huh?
Posted on 10/3/13 at 6:12 pm to aubiecat
I just hope the NCAA does for Ha-Ha what they did for Cam. AU suspended CAM ruled him ineligible and in the shortest turn around in what I can remember the NCAA declared Cam eligible again.

Maybe Cam paid the money back with his signing bonus before the investigation was over? I mean if he paid it back all is good right?

Just saw it is being reported that the amount now was no mare than $300 and that UA submitted to the NCAA the penalty be 1-3 game suspension.

Sorry guys that UA is not doomed.

Interesting timing that Bama self reported itself and proposes a 1-3 game suspension immediately after the Ole Miss game and a month before the LSU game.
