Guy who fell short of Pete’s scoring record “cheated” by not getting to play in CBI again

Davis feels cheated
This one takes the cake. Guy who tried to break Pistol Pete’s record by compiling five years of stats feels “cheated” by his team being left out of crappy tournament it played in last season. Team’s record was 14-19.

Hes an idiot. Stop whining. Pete did it in 3 yrs. He's not remotely close to what Pistol did. And that was without a 3 pt line or shot clock.

He shoulda scored more. That's on him, now he needs to STFU. Wouldn't have counted anyway.

Take his 3’s and count them as 2’s and get back with me…

Why are you being so insecure about this nobody?
I don’t even know this guys name and don’t care what he thinks. Why do you?

I wonder this same question about posters on behalf of you, to be blunt.

Its disrespectful to be even mentioned in the same sentence as maravich.

He would’ve got the record if his Dad was his coach

Nobody will even remember him by the start of next season.

Davis’ father was his coach.

Guy played in something like 57 more games than Pete, had plenty of opportunities, non-starter.

I mean to be fair stupid questions are generally met with stupid answers, especially in a stupid article. Honestly kinda felt like Maravich’s kid is too angry and tuff, if there’s someone to poke at in this article as irrelevant, meaningless, egotistical, whatever else people are burying this kid as.

Nobody will break the magician record...

I love that his launch point on that shot is the free throw line...

Time to move on from this guy. He's had his 15 minutes of fame. What he did was fine for 5 years but he's not even close to being in PP's category.

No doubt in any measure.
I’d love to see a shot chart of Pete’s career at LSU. Curious how many 3 point distance shots he took. Back in the pre-3 point day, the only time the floor was spread was at the end of the game with the four corners offenses. When you’re averaging 44 a game, you’re making a lot of shots from a multitude of distances.
Kudos to the runner up scoring guy. But his career is really no comparison to Pistol Pete’s. Five years versus 3 is all the argument you need to dismiss the debate. Intellectual gymnastics trying to put the two careers in the same context.
Even in a four year career, one would have to AVERAGE 33 a game to match Pete.
99% of players never score 33 in even a single game.
It’s Pete’s crown and scoring champ discussion is not even good bar talk until some freshman debuts averaging high 20s or better, and playing in a league where 4 years’ accumulation is common, even for the superstars in that division.
Pete

Honestly, the only thing that needs to be said is from Pete Maravich's son:
Jaeson Maravich said he did not have a personal problem with Davis, but he wasn't happy that his father's record had a chance to be broken in a lower-tier, pay-to-play college basketball postseason tournament.
"I think it's a terrible look," Jaeson Maravich told the AP. "Your season should be over if you're 14-19.

588 of those points came on 3s. As we all know the 3 point shot wasn't around when Maravich played. Take away those points and he's 592 shy of Pete.
