He will not be able to afford a Cam Newton every year. Without Cam this year Auburn is 8-4 right now at best.

That's more on their defense though. Malzahn's offenses have lit it up everywhere he's been regardless of personnel.

Exposed isn't the right word.

The defensive coordinators in the SEC will learn his tendencies after a while just like they did with Meyer at Florida.

But Malzahn has shown he can adapt his system to a player after this season with Cam.

But, on the other hand, I think a half decent coordinator could look genius with Cam under center.

I guess what I'm saying is that I think Malzahn is a pretty good offensive mind and it looked like Smart and Saban had it all figured out yesterday until Cam got it together.

I don't think Malzahn's play calling won that game yesterday. Unlike the early lead Auburn jumped on Alabama last season, which was all his play calling.

One other inducement for Gus? Who is their "permanent" opponent from the West?

Malzahn adapts his playcalling and system in general to the players he has. That aspect will ensure his future success.

He got exposed at least 5 times then.

The defense had nothing to do with those losses, eh?

I kind of wonder if you know anything about Malzahn's philosophy at all or if you follow TideFans mantra.

I think it was more of the D getting exposed last year.

But the bottom line is he made Chris Todd look like a legit QB last year... and I'm still trying to figure out how he did that.

Was he averaging 40 points a game last year? That should be enough to beat anybody.

I agree. Since he's an offensive mastermind the Barn would do anything to keep him.

Yes they have but they've also adjusted and gotten stronger as games went on. Last years defense didn;t have that ability because they had absolutely no depth.

You're going to be facing that again next year, and probably for several more years after that.

Here's where you're wrong. They've been playing A LOT of young guys and will be just fine in the coming years.

You're going to see what losing so many seniors and starters will do. Just look at Texas, Florida and Alabama.

arty is an imbecile, don't waste your breath.

FWIW arty, our defense is light years better this year than last year.

You are a typical bammer turd.

Auburn was 3rd in scoring last year in the SEC (higher than bama) & 2nd in total offense.

Take your BS to the bama boards, gump.

Not reading the whole thread, but 2.2 Mil at Vandy pegs out the bullshite meter.

Malzahn will likely be offered several jobs. Maybe Vandy. If they offer 2.2, He'd be a fool not to take it...they won't, and he won't.
