It was fine statistically but how many losses did you have compared to this year? You won 7-8 games that could have easily gone either way and werent decided until the 4th quarter, many of which were last second wins. That was with one of the best college QBS any of us has seen in a long time. Without Cam, you would have lost most of those and if you are being honest then you know it too. It isnt a knock because you had Cam and you won. However, my point stands: Gus needs to strike now because it wont get better than 12-0. He will never be more desired than right now.

If you are suggesting our offense lost us those games in 2009, I will have no choice but to laugh at you.

As much flak people throw at our defense this year, it was twenty times worse last year. Statistically, it was the worst defense in our history. Our offense did fine in every game except for two: Kentucky and LSU. They did enough in every other game, the defense just sucked.

He's got a knack for making QBs nobody had ever heard of look like all stars as well.

Kafka and Persa both had outstanding years.

Im not suggesting anythign than what I have said. Gus would not be 12-0 without Cam and would likely have 4-6 losses. He should use this momentum to get a HC job (NOT VANDY) right now. If he comes back and goes 7-5 then he would be lucky to get Vandy. It is just business 101.

Baylor in the Big 12

Baylor is no better a school than any big 12 school. In fact, it is significantly harder to get into Texas or A&M than it is Baylor.

Gus isn't the head coach man

Our offense will be fine, Newton or no Newton. Sure he takes it to that next level of eliteness, but Malzahn will keep our offense legit.

He might just want to wait for a job better than Vanderbilt to come calling.
Yea, because $2MM/year SEC jobs grow on trees.

It's Vanderbilt

When he doesn't take the job can I expect you to come back and tell me how I was right?

Hope it works out for him. Vandy needs a good coach.

I'd love to see Vandy get a coach that can get them to a perennial .500 team.

Watching them win that bowl game was a thing is beauty.

Why would he go to Vandy over Colorado? Colorado has a shot at a national title.

It would seem that Colorado is a much better option on the surface but after the scandals some years back I believe that their administration kind of de-emphasized football spending.

It seems right now that they almost prefer a team that challenges for a decent bowl more than are willing to get back into the dirty business of taking it to the next level.

IMO, Malzahn would do better if he wants to continue to work his way up to go to a school that would allow more JC and borderline academic guys so he can surround a good QB with playmakers.

Yup. And he'll probably wait one more year for a job like that to open up.

First I was naive now I'm delusional. I should probably renounce my TigerDroppings account and relegate myself to AuburnEagle.

So are you going on record as saying he's going to Vanderbilt?

Or is there some unforeseen job that's opening up that he's going to?
