re: Lutz tragedy likely the result of DUI.

You're an idiot. Nobody is defending anything. All we are saying is that everybody makes mistakes. Did Lutz show poor judgement that night? Absolutely. Everybody does stupid irresponsible things when they are young. Everybody is guilty of having a little too much to drink at some point in their lives. Unfortunately tragedies like this are all too common with young people and to say that it ruins his legacy and he will be remembered as a drunk is just ridiculous. Anybody that thinks that way needs to step off their high horse and take a deep look in the mirror. This is something that could have easily happened to almost anybody at some point when they were young. Anybody is capable of making one bad decision and ending up dead, and to define that person based on that one decision is stupid.
I completely agree. Could have been me or you or anyone else. It's sad. Sucks to lose someone that young

So if you had no knowledge of his BAC, he would still be a saint in your book? He had no accountability in the determining factor of the wreck. Yet in your reasoning he is responsible for the outcome of the tragedy based off of his BAC. Please never be on a jury, people like you let Casey Anthony types go free.
Well you asked several things. First, had I not known his BAC then id have never known his BAC so yes, I'd have likely thought differently of him. Not to compare the two, but as an example, I'd have prob thought differently of OJ had I not known he killed two people.
I didn't say he was responsible for the outcome. I said he was incredibly irresponsible. One could definitely argue that at .377, he was in no state to determine who he should not get in a car with. I'm sure .17 seems sober to a .377.
If I were on a jury, I'd determine that two people got ridiculously drunk to the point that they couldn't make reasonable decisions anymore. It's a tragedy that they lost their lives but a small miracle they hurt nobody else...thankfully.
The real enlightenment is that you're defending any of this. It's flat out irresponsible. There is no way to say .377 is ok under any circumstances.

Ok fellas. I guess time will tell the legacy of Lutz. Auburn fans will always worship him which is ok and expected. The rest, well, they will eventually forget altogether I guess.
The whole thing is unfortunate. He was way too young to die. Having said that, the perception and circumstances are different now that we know he was a .377. They just are. You can say "he was just a passenger" all you want. He wasn't capable of driving had he wanted to. .4 is like death range. Getting yourself to .377 is irresponsible and unacceptable even if you're sitting on your couch all night.
I feel sorry for his family. This is like a second wave of grieving haven gotten this new info. They have had enough. I can't imagine losing a child.

Why is his legacy ruined? He got fricked up. Why does that change any good he did?
Oh it doesn't undo any good he did. But in the future when people bring up his name they won't say "remember all the good he did". They will say "dude was really wasted".
I'm sure Len Bias did plenty of good things but nobody you know can name a single one. We just know he died of a cocaine overdose. That's Lutz's legacy now. It sucks and isn't fair but it is reality.
This doesn't apply to AU fans, but it does to the rest of the college football world.

Dumbass. There are documented cases that are 4 times his BAC.
Oh awesome, well he had so much further to go.
You can't be serious right now?

Auburn fans justifying this BAC is embarrassing. I'm sure he was a good man that made a bad decision, but Jesus Christ., .377 is like coma level. It's completely irresponsible and unacceptable whether you're the passenger or driver. This is an embarrassing way to go out no matter how you spin it.
It's just unfortunate really. That's the highest number I have ever heard. Just a waste.

Vandy has not beaten a single team that will go to a bowl game. Not even the crappiest of bowls.

This is the same guy who told me I knew nothing about football when I said our defense sucked. He tries to convince himself that it was just that we were facing a mobile QB and that we would dominate pocket passers in the SEC.

Don't worry guys, it's just a mobile QB. We will own sec QBs with their pocket passers.
