You would be making a huge mistake if you let GusBus slip away. He is the best you can hope for.

Pay the man and go big big buy out.

All you got.

Those stupid sobs in the AU ATH Dept better not consider giving him a single additional dime until 8:00 pm Saturday night.

I think the crux of the matter is whether Arky is really Gus's dream job. If it is then this year is the year to jump. He can pretty much name his number and I'm sure Arky will come up with it. After this year I don't think Arky will even offer again. May be why he's trying to get something nailed down long term with AU before the SECCG.

So you are okay going another 3 years before you do it again?

I’m okay with playing the game of finding out if Gus can build a consistent program. Your opinion about his instability doesn’t matter to me.

When you are told to give an answer by a specific date, this happens...

I hope he stays at Auburn with a huge raise and buyout...

His greatest point of leverage is right now - today and tomorrow. If AU wins, then they know he's not leaving and some leverage is lessened. If AU loses, he has a real possibility to leave, but some money people don't care if he does at that point.

True but if he leverages AU for a raise and extension this week. Continues the cycle of great year ok year bad year. He might have lost some good will and patience by doing it this way.

Of course, it might not matter. AU seemed ready to fire him this year.

Some of y'all need to revisit your thoughts on Gus from the beginning of the season.

The Auburn faithful isn't acknowledging the full on fire Gus melt that happened after the Clemson and LSU games. Personally they'd be stupid to get rid of him, but theyd be stupid to give him an ungodly contract too. Especially with all the legal troubles their athletic department outside of football is in. Rock and a hard place.

frick all of that. He deserves to be paid because he responded well to adversity and learned a valuable lesson: never let off the gas.

LSU is used to having irrelevant bowl seasons. Oh, and losing to Alabama.

And like I said to begin with, some of y'all need to revisit your opinions of the man earlier this season about him being able to lead your program.

And I never said anything about his instability other than reading what some of you idiots said about him.

And like I said, he just boatraced UGA and Alabama while both were at #1. We’re on board now because he did something we didn’t think he was capable of... adapting to adversity.

I’d be angry if my GOAT head coach and all his blue chip 5*s got manhandled in the biggest game of the season. But hey, that’s just me.
