I think the crux of the matter is whether Arky is really Gus's dream job. If it is then this year is the year to jump. He can pretty much name his number and I'm sure Arky will come up with it. After this year I don't think Arky will even offer again. May be why he's trying to get something nailed down long term with AU before the SECCG.

When you are told to give an answer by a specific date, this happens... I hope he stays at Auburn with a huge raise and buyout...

True but if he leverages AU for a raise and extension this week. Continues the cycle of great year ok year bad year. He might have lost some good will and patience by doing it this way.

The Auburn faithful isn't acknowledging the full on fire Gus melt that happened after the Clemson and LSU games. Personally they'd be stupid to get rid of him, but theyd be stupid to give him an ungodly contract too. Especially with all the legal troubles their athletic department outside of football is in. And like I said, he just boatraced UGA and Alabama while both were at #1. We’re on board now because he did something we didn’t think he was capable of... adapting to adversity.
