don't know how it's a surprise...go look at Bama's scout or rivals page. Go look at tidefans.com or woolyal.com. Compare the Auburn threads to UT threads.

Never heard of this site before. I went over to look around and with the posters names turned me off instantly. JackAss/SkunkButt/ButtMunch/DoucheCanoe/CrabInfested/AssHat/WoollyMuff...

FWIW douche canoe reminds me of the "twatwaffle" term someone coined around here

People that say older UA fans consider UT the #1 rival are just wrong. I'm 26 and I dont.

From my lifetime experiences this is what I've come to understand. Not stating it as fact, but just what I've come to notice.

Biggest rival

Alumni= UT
Sidwalk fans= AU

Educated(about football) fans= UT
Uneducated fans= AU

Again, I'm not stating that as fact, but just what I've come to see. People that consider AU their #1 rival are more likely to wear a "Got 12?" T-shirts. Their main reason for having AU as their main rival is so they can talk sh1t to Donny down the street, but cant tell you the starters on our defense are. I've had a few of these types actually say something along the lines of "I'd rather lose every game and beat aubrun". These fans also tend to fade away whenever we go through a "down period", hence the reason for living in the moment with no appreciation of the past.

The fan who considers UT their main rival seems more to have National Championship aspirations, and doesnt just get his kicks off by talking crap to Donny down the street. They also seem to have a good understanding of UA history.

If you know your history, from the fight in 1901, to Gen Neyland, to what Fulmer did to our University, there's no way you cannot have UT as your #1 rival.

Exactly. I'm 24 and UT is definitely #1 for me.

Woollyal.com is a forum they started to replace the old TideSports forum that went away when they went to Rivals. It started off well enough, but pretty much every five page thread over there is a flame war now.

While the irony of the original quote is not lost on me, Fulmer did in fact engage in highly nefarious activity in his great efforts to bring Bama down. He deftly used his un-American protection as a secret witness to sling whatever his twisted little mind could come up with in an effort to see what would stick (affairs with players moms, coaches stealing money from the Shaun Alexander fund, etc, etc). He even admitted later that he knew at the time that some of the rumors he passed on to Kramer were not true, and nearly faced multiple legitimate lawsuits from some of the people he defamed.

Anyone who claims that Fulmer acted in an acceptable and responsible manner as it relates to the Bama investigation is as delusional as the Bama fans who claim no wrongdoing was committed by UA.

PS- I’m a 30 year old who hates both programs but says UT can burn in hell for glorifying that morally bankrupt, cowardly, fat frick.

I am not a sidewalk fan. I am not an uneducated fan. I currently am not attending UA, but I will be there next year after I finish up my internships. But auburn is #1. I fully understand why many consider tennessee #1, but I don't have to deal with many tennessee fans. I think I know like 3 total. I've had to deal with more auburn fans my whole life. And no, I do not have a "got 12?" "Got 13?" "Got 14?" "Got saban, shula, herpes, scam newton, etc" or any other t-shirt like that.

Frankly, anyone that can't determine that those designations such as DoucheCanoe, SkunkButt, etc... aren't usernames isn't welcome at WoollyAl.

We like people who have been online more than a week to participate.

Is he not saying that he doesn't consider UT to be our biggest rival? And he seems to shoot down the notion that older fans think UT is because he's all of 26?

My issue with what fulmer did is not the fact that we got caught. We cheated and deserved to be punished. No, my issue is that fulmer/tennessee and a few other schools were bidding for albert means too. Fulmer was just as guilty and dirty as Bama was in that case

I just find a bunch of hypocrisy with this, since bama did the exact same thing to Auburn(albeit a half century ago)but to a greater extent

Auburn is considered trash by many Alabama fans and they were not, for most of our history together, a national brand and still aren't really.

Tennessee is just about, almost, some would even say that they are, in the upper echelon of football teams. Auburn is nowhere near that.

To play Auburn was to simply play the retarded little brother but, to play TN. was to play a powerhouse that deserved respect.

That is how the Alabama-Vol rivalry began, as equals, as the two premier teams in the SEC that represented the South and the SEC to the world when teams like Auburn and LSU and Mississippi State and Florida were unknown and not discussed or cared about.

We have history together that an LSU fan could not understand due to their main rival being Tulane. It's just not quite the same as the Alabama-Tennessee rivalry.

Sure, some of the luster has fell off recently, but, Alabama-TN. will be back when Tennessee starts winning again.

I know how it reads, but I think he missed an "only" in there. I read it like this:

"People that say [only] older UA fans consider UT the #1 rival are just wrong. I'm 26 and I [do]."

The reason most people came to this conclusion is likely due to the rest of his post. He was making a different argument than his opening line.
