I don't, but okay. I'll give a summary then. I was merely describing a portion of the fanbase. I was not insinuating that most of the fanbase puts UT #1.

Tennessee because they're so competitive every year and all

You MFers just really don't understand what a rivalry is about. Its amazing. Its like describing color to a blind man.

When Pat Dye started turning things around for Auburn about the same time Coach Bryant passed away was when things began to change. Old School fans still see UT as the main rival but those born after 1978 have little if any memory of how things were back then. Since the early 1980's when the younger fans memories start, Auburn has been the stronger team between UTk and Auburn. They have had a greater impact on our success. Prior to the early 1980s, Alabama and UTk for the most part were the SEC face for the nation (UGA did stick their nose under the tent from time to time as well).

What can we say. We're the premier school in Louisiana and have never had to really fend off other schools for recruits. Life's good

We don't have rivals... only schools that temporarily might beat us until we restore order on that arse.

Definitely UT.

LSU isnt a rival, our UT rivalry dates back over a 100 years. Just because they dont have a rival doesnt mean we'll be theres/

I'm 26 and most definitely consider UT our #1 rival. Not only was I raised to hate them, but fat phil put it over the top. Do you not remember what he did to us?

When Tennessee's good, it has to be them. The last few years it's almost been like playing Vandy with worse uniforms.

It's been LSU of late.

I kind of look at the rivalry between Bama-LSU like the rivalry between Tennessee-Georgia. No, the teams really don't like each other, they do have some history, but it's just not the same.

Certainly. I was not attempting to speak in absolutes. My daughters are 16 and 18, they view UTk as THE rival because that is what they understood from birth.

If you took a survey at the stadium during regular season, you would likely find a 45% UTk vs 55% Auburn split. If you took the same survey at A-day you would likely find a 35% UTk vs 65% Auburn split. A-day will be a younger crowd.

1) Auburn
2) Tennessee

My family are all Barners and Gumps so I know this as well as a few Vols

LSU is just a game against a Damn strong football team. After the LSU Bama(or Auburn) game we talk about it but it's over in a day or so. after the Bama auburn game they dont speak for weeks

If someone in our fanbase considers LSU our main rival I can pretty much guarentee you that they became a fan after Saban arrived.

I could see why LSU would want to be our rival, but what LSU fans dont get is that rivalries dont just pop up because your old coach now coaches at UA.

Well it was like in the early 2000s. We were on a streak against Bama and significantly better than they were. We were also able to get a couple of victories against Florida. For several years, though, UGA had our number. Around that time period a segment of UT fans cared more about UGA than Bama because UGA was in the way to Atlanta. But I think everyone realized the significance of the Bama rivalry compared to the UGA rivalry.

Now Alabama is where Tennessee was. The Vols are not a major impediment to Bama, so it's only natural for some of their fans to see LSU as a more significant/threatening roadblock on the way to an SEC/National title considering how good they are lately.

After beating this topic to death in this thread, I have come to one conclusion...

Some of them consider Tenn a bigger rival than Auburn

LSU is a practical obstacle right now but not a rival with the same degree of hatred that Auburn and Tenn generate.

So I'd say:

1) Auburn
2) Tenn
3) ULM

I bet the OP does not get the joke.

So I will fill in the gaps:
Northeastern State, er, I mean U of Louisiana @ Monroe
beat Bama during their time in hell when
coaches were falling like apples and La Tech beat them around then too.

I watched the Leigh Tiffin game the other day and in the pregame Verne says Arkansas-Bama is an "emerging rivalry". We haven't beaten them since
