I am just hearing this news, and I have to say that is pretty sad. I hope to never see a Saban or Les Miles statue in Baton Rouge any time soon.

What's so damn sad about it? It's a frickin statue. Everyone(well almost everyone) knew he would get one if he won a NC. Why are people making it such a bug deal

There's nothing sad about putting up a statue. However, it is a bit ironic because of the way some Bama fans literally worship Saban. LSU fans are as quick as any fanbase in the country to turn on their coaches, but they don't deify the successful ones either. I don't know what it is with Alabama -- maybe its because it got fricked over when Florida took more of the Gulf coast than it should have -- but to listen to the mystical reverence that Bama fans give their football coaches, and in this case Saban, is demeaning in a way that most of them obviously don't understand.

We are extremely happy with what Saban has been able to accomplish here and he deserves a statue beside all the other NC coaches. However, no coach or player is bigger than the University of Alabama.

uhhhhhhh... maybe, but you guys have a funny way of showing it. You don't see other programs erecting statues to past and current coaches. I would say that Nick Saban IS the program.

Negative. Coach Saban is a great coach just like all our other great coaches that have won us NCs but he IS NOT bigger than the University. Us fans may seem that way at times but it's not so. When he moves on, so will we. Now it's a different story if he moves to AU or UT.

every coach that wins a nc does not get a statue. LSU will never make a statue for les miles, nor would we have ever made one for saban while he was still coaching. Ya'll are sad excuses for life bama fans. frick you all, you make life miserable for everyone. i would not piss on any one of you if you were burning. so eat shite and die.
