If you live near the Gulf Coast you should really start monitoring whats brewing in the Caribbean right now.

Some models have it veering up the East coast of Florida and some have it going into the Gulf. Seen models that have it impacting anywhere from Texas to Florida, so I thought I would give ya'll a heads up. If it makes it into the Gulf, it might grow into a Monster.

One can only pray that it stays away from Louisiana, it would be catastrophic if it dropped 10+ inches of rain over South Louisiana.

Anyone who lives on the coast and doesn't monitor storms should be slapped.

Been keeping a close eye on it. Ideally Hispaniola rips it apart. If it gets into the Florida straits and hunkers down for a while and then heads to the GOM it's going to get ugly for someone. Most models have it making second landfall around Thursday or Friday. I've got friends and family from Tampa to Texas and everywhere in between on the gulf coast. Hopefully if it gets into the gulf it'll beeline to Mexico, otherwise my flight to Dallas is cancelled and I get to stay home and board up windows potentially

I will say this- if I could choose for it to avoid one area it would be Louisiana. I think y'all have endured enough this month.

You could say this at one point about nearly every hurricane or tropical storm that's ever entered the Gulf of Mexico, dumbass. Right now this system is an invest, but it's a fricking tinderbox easing towards the fire. Nothing wrong with being prepared

Its changed a lot in the last 24 hours. Was going between Florida Panhandle and the landmass between Alabama and Louisiana. Now more East Coast

I think right now Florida is the best guess for an impact, it would either be the 28th or 29th. Best chance for impact in Florida right now looks to be the Atlantic coast side, but if it continues its western track it looks like it would cross florida anywhere from Tampa to Miami. So you would definitely be affected, but I think it would be a Cat 1 at that point at best.

In another two days we will have a much better idea of what it's going to do, but I decided to post something about it because it's never to early to keep an eye on these things.

Good post, I literally saw the tinder box reference a few minutes ago.

To the guy who called me a dumbass for warning the people of the SECrant of something that could eventually affect a fan of every team in the SEC:

frick you. I know people who died during Katrina because they didn't take it seriously until it was a Cat 5 bearing down on the MS/LA coast. It's never too early to be concerned about something that could harm thousands of people in less than 10 days. Because it's only an invest right now it isn't getting the pub it deserves. The thing about hurricanes though, is that it isn't what it is right now, but what it will be when it makes impact. Don't be stupid man.

I called and told them there was a liberal terrorist on the plane. You'll be cuffed and stuffed soon. Hold tight.
