Any good high school games Friday night? I know westlake plays Thursday but my dad and I were trying to see a game while in town?

Sorry it took me so long to reply to this. I think Westlake - Akins will be a blowout.

If you want to stay closer in town, this is a showdown between two of the Austin area's biggest suburbs. I can't speak to if there are big-name recruits on those teams but the fanfare should be top notch.

If you want to venture a little further out of town, you could do worse than Kerrville. Kerrville Tivy is where Johnny Manziel played in HS. Charming little town. Fredericksburg is also a very proud town, so this is a big showdown. Should be full of Friday Night Lights sights and sounds.

EDIT:

I actually might go to this one.

Hutto just put up 56 on Liberty Hill and Steele just defeated Lake Travis. Hutto is not too far outside of town. And the Hippos always have a great environment.

Rudys BBQ is the move if you don’t want to wait in long lines or travel out of the way.

Trudy’s for Tex Mex.

Kerbey Lane Cafe for breakfast.

Round Rock or Shipleys for donuts.

The Continental Club

The Continental Gallery upstairs is where it's at imo. Chill atmosphere and I never saw a crappy band there. Cheaper cover charge too.

Also the Elephant Room is a great spot for jazz in a cool old brick building if anyone is into that.

I'm loving all the recommendations for The Peacock. I went there the morning after my wedding. Everything on the menu is so delicious and the vibe there is so good.

Also, Geraldine's is fantastic. I went there the night of my wedding. LINK / It's right by Rainey Street. Easy to get to, upbeat but chill vibe, amazing food.

It's a really good one but I still gotta give it to the Carlsbad "Cavemen"...

Rudys BBQ
. It should be a crime if you go to Austin and don’t get Rudy’s brisket and their spicy chop breakfast tacos are on point..

chiliquilas or the crispy chicken Benedict are must try’s

I’ll add Abel’s on the lake, the Texas teas are worth the trip. Also find you a Taco Shack for a Burnet Road breakfast burrito.

Rudy's? It should be a crime if you go to Austin and get that shite vs the actual good bbq joints.

Torchy’s is all over Colorado, is the OG in Austin or different place/same name?

There’s a fricking Torchys in Raleigh. Extremely over rated.

If you have a car, you have to go to Buc-cee's. I think they have some in Tennessee but they started in Texas and one of the largest is outside Austin. It's a convenience store on steroids.

I ask the administrators to keep this at the top but they haven’t done it yet.

Definitely seems like the most relevant thing on the board right now.
