I think somewhere around 2004 they changed the controls. I think 02 or 03 was the first version I bought...then I remmebr around 04/05 they made some sort of change with the joystick that made the movements kinda weird. Like you had too much control almost, you could make the guy turn and practically get almost horizontal on a cut.

1-AA teams, at the time, and historical teams were the shite in 2005 too. I used to kick all my friends arse with a teens era ND team running the wishbone.
Oh yea, I loved the 1AA teams, especially when you could move them into Dynasty mode at D1. I'd scrap the directional Louisiana schools for Montana all the time.

one of us played NCAA with the generic names and players. All of us got the real rosters for it. Without the real rosters, the game is stupid. And the real rosters are the real players. So, without them, there is no game, and that seems to be some sort of tangible value. And EA knew that, which is why they continued to make it as easy as possible to "share rosters" and "edit players".
I've never played the NCAA games, so I have no idea how they operate. My question is, did the "edit player" function allow you to change their name? If so, it seems like a perfectly feasible workaround for EA to release the generic version but quietly encourage people to create roster lists that players can use to create the team they want. Just put the lists in a convenient form (i.e. all in one place) on the internet and let everyone create their favorite college program. With judicious use of jersey color options and slightly altered mascot images, it'd be impossible to sue EA for uncompensated use of images. If you want to play as Vanderbilt, for instance, you could just choose black and gold uniforms, a generic naval officer mascot, and a team that has no idea who the QB will be on a given week. Voila.

Sure, it's a dream to be on a video game, but they've earned it by having their elite talent. Treating them like kids that should be flattered just goes to show it's exploitative.

Vandy fans are absolutely the best around. Love you goofy little frickers.

If he hadn't failed at being an NBA star this suit would never had happened.

The edit player feature allowed you to change the name, skin color, height, weight, speed, etc. You could make a super team if you wanted or just make the rosters more accurate, because they always fricked them up somehow.

He's right, but you can't un-open Pandora's Box.

When I was little I had to play this
I really never cared if the current games had the names and actual rosters on them. I just enjoyed the game.

That isn't going to buy your mom a house but $1,150 can do some damage.
I'd rather be in a video game and have people play with my likeness instead of receiving a check for that amount. Get a damn job and you can easily get $1,150.

I'm not really arguing either way but do you think a kid playing football in Division 1 (anywhere) has time for a job? Come on now.

This is the only Electronic Football that mattered.

If they do make a new one, the better make the best gd college football game ever seen.

Have a tall beer on me Greg McElroy. Dude is a few hundred bucks worth not being in a video game.

Exactly what a rich, silver spoon white boy would say.
EA and the NCAA got off easy.
