No one is saying Horry was not good. But the point was who had the best individual SEC and NBC career from the SEC. Players from other conferences did better.

Odell Mosteler.

Dunno, apparently SI thought he was the best center in the country at one time:
Oliver Miller made him his bitch, every time they played.
Shaq never beat Arkansas.

Shaq was lucky he didn't have to face Oliver Miller week in and week out. He only needed to go up against weak sauce like Olajuwon, Patrick Ewing, and David Robinson.
But Miller - now THAT'S a ball player.

It's the Pistol and not even close. Dude didn't even have a 3 point line and scored 30 a game like nothing. Better question is who is the 2nd best player.

Oh I know no one said Horry wasn't good, and I won't call him the best, but I do believe he is one of the most clutch players.

I love Horry. I just think it's funny when people use championships as the sole reason to put one legendary player over another. If it was rings and nothing else, then Horry would be an alltime great.

And Otto Graham would be the best QB of all time if we went by championships. I personally think it is unfair to judge who is the greatest in different eras.

a lot of people dont remember, but he actually missed a big shot that would have won the game that knocked bama out of the tournament

Maravich and there's not even a debate. 44.2 ppg without a 3 point line...just incredible.

About as funny as mindless idiots in some Fanbases who use championships-non existent and real-as the sole reason to put one legendary program over another.

Damn, the videos of Pistol Pete are insane. He doesn't just make the shot, it's nothing but net most of the time. Incredible

I am one that doesn't remember that, but all greats will have mishaps. That one I certainly don't mind considering it was negative to Bama

Stupid comparison. The reason you can't use rings to decide which player is the best, is because there is more than one player on a team. A journeyman player who happened to be on multiple championship teams doesn't make the greatest ever.
To compare programs using championships is a completely different animal. You are comparing apples to apples - which team is more successful.
