Who knows.

I know they were working on the circle drill but I'm not sure when they will do it. The circle drill is legit.

they have definitely improved since they have an LSU/Alabama man running the marching band

I knew he was from LSU, didn't know Alabama. But yeah I'll give ya that, it has improved a lot.

our band is seriously getting dissed here it seems

they are really damn good, i just hate the new shite they are trying to teach them, like that new GEORGIA BULLDOGS cheer where they frick everyones timing up to keep running around like chickens with their heads cut off

but idc, when that guy is int he corner and he begins the battle hymn there is no more surreal experience a band can have

Even though they'll likely get beat down in a couple of conference games next year, I think the A&M band is pretty good for what they do.

The Aggie War Hymn & Nole Men of Kyle are pretty impressive.

....But we'll still "drum" them again.

I was extremely impressed with Auburn's band this weekend. My roommate is in the band at LSU and he was pissed because he felt Auburn was better than LSU's this weekend. I think LSU, UGA, UT, and UF have the best bands in the SEC.

On a musicianship basis LSU is without peer in the SEC. The band that has surprised me recently has been Auburn's. They used to suck, but the quality of their musicianship has improved as well as the diversity of the songs they play. But none of that has to do with the theme songs that all SEC bands can play with adequate skill.

Rocky Top is probably the most recognizeable song from the SEC, but evryone gets sick of hearing it except the most diehard Tennessee fans.

The one band that will never be as impactful as its predecessors is Ole Miss. The songs it no longer plays were those that were the most inspirational to the fans.

I think they started it at Bama this past week, and if tradition serves will stick with it throughout the remainder of the season (unless they do a holiday themed one for the last home game).

It is amazing that the SEC bands to win the Sudler Trophy got them all pretty much in consecutive years (from Wiki):
2000 University of Georgia
2001 Texas A&M University
2002 Louisiana State University
2003 University of Alabama
2004 Auburn University

And to quote the late, great, Lewis Grizzard when the UGA band went from being The Dixie Redcoat Marching Band to just The Redcoat Marching Band
quote:

I applaud the dropping of 'Dixie' from the name of the University of Georgia band, but let us not stop there.

How can we allow the word 'red,' which stands for communism? And the word 'redcoat' itself is an affront to the memory of all those Americans who fought against the redcoats of England in the Revolutionary War.

And 'band.' Pancho Villa had a 'band' of desperadoes and we had to send brave young soldiers to Mexico after him. So 'band' should go, too, and that just leaves 'The,' which is a dumb name for a large number of musicians, so I guess they're just out of a name altogether.

Two things I do not ever miss are the trumpeter in the corner and Krypton at the start of the 4th. I don't care if an OT 10 offers to blow me in the SLC bathroom at my tailgate, I am not missing the Battle Hymn.

I like LSUs. My parents are sitting near the LSU section at the Bama game and that they should be excited about being close to their band.

I like Rocky Top.

Never really impressed with Auburn.

Texas ATm has a great band at halftime but they have nothing going on during the games....

I like the MIllion Dollar Band but I wish they would get some more "sinister" cheers for during the game.(first downs/ forcing 4th downs). Neck and Chinese Bandits at LSU is great.

the circle drill is the best halftime show in the SEC imho, even though that's the only show the UT band plays when they come to BDS.

I think you are stupid if you think bands in the SEC are weak, ot that the music is piped in.

Arkansas' band has played this for many years. We don't play it so much anymore, but it is the name of our live mascot, afterall.

But, yeah, we stole that from USC. We stole it before Bama, though.
