A&M is ranked which means the AP disagrees.

i have nothing against A&M. IMO they will be good later on in the season but to have them ranked in the top 5% of the countries D1 teams is

A&M is only ranked so there is a top 25 match-up for the first game of the SEC network... If we were playing Auburn first game A&M would be around 35th or so.

Listen son...we went 12-0 with some of the worst QB play in the history of the SEC. Also, when was the last time anyone not named Alabama raped our D-Line. Not even Johnny "Flippin" Football did that.

Young athletic QB's on a run-first team and some big bad young'uns at DT say you're assessment is lame and rank with bias.

meh.

ETA....reading the stats for that game it still shocks me that that UF team beat us. You didn't dominate our DL that game we straight up laid down.

AU's schedule is what will be the trip up.

This. Schedule is absolutely brutal (based on preseason rankings).

I like your list Bucc. I agree with your analysis of bama. The defense should be good enough alone to keep them in the top 15 easy and most likely the top 10, but with the questions on offense, having them at 1/2 right now seems a bit much.

Overrated: USCe - Obvious reasons

Underrated: ATM - I don't think they'll win the west but everybody predicting them to fall on their faces will be disappointed.

Very good posts by most on here. I think Alabama could be overrated right now, but if they are able to remain undefeated until the LSU game, their talent level will have caught up to the inexperience and the LSU and Auburn games could be epic again.

OP and HBT are retarded twins.

Overrated: Depends on how you define it; who wil finish with a worse record than you think? Auburn-- a 3 loss season wouldn't surprise anyone really-- but TAMU has some real issues, and if things go sideways with the offense at all, they could easily miss a bowl game. Plenty of folks will plug Alabama in here, but I won't-- there is no denying the talent they have amassed, but it is relatively inexperienced in key positions-- however, they don't face a real test until their 5th game, in an Ole Miss squad that always finds ways to lose. Bama will play its way into being close to appropriately rated, if not perfectly rated, by getting all of that young talent some experience, before getting into the heart of their schedule.

Underrated: Mississippi State; they're going to sneak up on people on the strength of a quality defense, and even a marginally improved offensive attack will translate into wins. I look for them to finish as high as 3rd in the killer West.

Kentucky and Arkansas are probably slightly underrated, as neither seems to be expected to win more than a game or two, tops, in SEC play.

Overrated: Florida and aTm

Underrated: Mizzou

There's gonna be a dogfight in the east this year. Muschamp has yet to prove that he can win consistently, IMO and probably won't have a top-flight QB. Florida will be improved but not enough.

aTm loses Johnny football. Yes, the defense was young and is a year older, but will they be SEC good? Offense drops back, defense improved but not dominant and will spend more time on the field due to offense.

Mizzou brings back strength where it counts-both sides of the trenches and brings back 2/3 of their running game. Mauk has experience and should be one of the better SEC QB's by year's end. Pinkel has never had problems finding good WR's. That position will in the very least be decent enough with Mauk making plays and a favorable SEC schedule.
