I would have no problem with this, but I would make it felony conviction. If you are convicted of a felony you should be banned from participating in collegiate athletics IMO.
Honestly though, has this happened? Was Taylor even accused of a felony, I can't recall. And that is by far the most egregious example.
We can joke about all of this, but no SEC school is taking someone with a felony conviction (recent at least) or a pending felony charge.

I agree. You can't make it less than a conviction because you would be depriving people of due process.

It doesn't happen often, but it still isn't a rule. It should be, though.

It's highly unlikely, but it should still be prohibited by NCAA rules. There's a registered sex offender playing for Alcorn State right now, which is ridiculous.

You are still dumb enough to bring up what people here believe, yet you would turn around and get bent out of shape over the same people viewing Saint Richt as the biggest underachiever in college football.
The fact that almost everyone else views Saint Richt as an underachiever, but your fan base defends him more than Bammers defend Saban proves how delusional you are

It too bad I am not creative as you and all my post dont revolve around making comments about fricking some girl, crying or flaming because a rival poster said something I don't like, or pulling the wool over everyone's eyes by starting threads pretending to be either an Ole Miss or LSU fan

Didn't Nick Marshall get busted for weed after he got to Auburn?

You're going to have an aneurism dude. The board needs you for the long haul.

For certain cases, yeah that's bad. But what it takes to make someone a sex offender is an absolute joke. You could get caught peeing behind a building and make the list for life.

copy and paste where our fans deny that he has underachieved?
I know that probably makes your head explode, but we all realize we should have accomplished more than we have. So what's your comeback gonna be for that?

defend him in what way? He's our coach, we like him.

Nick Marshall missed an entire half for that incident. In addition to Auburn's highly selective admissions department they are also incredibly strict with players that are on their second chance after being kicked off another team.

You're right, there are some grey areas, I guess. They wouldn't be able to start making exceptions either because that would open up a whole can of worms at that point.
ETA: I guess they could include a caveat for sex offenders that they have to be convicted of rape? I don't know man, but the convicted rapists, robbers, and violent criminals don't deserve the privilege of playing college sports IMO.

fricks up his teammates at UGA- kicked out
breaks the law at AU- misses 30 minutes
Yet y'all are the disciplinarians? LOL

He got caught with a little grass. You know, like Jasper Sanks.

He got a citation for weed residue and paid a fine. Not sure busted is the right word. but yes. I think his bigger issue was being a black man driving a purple charger in South Ga. That will get you pulled over for a good reason, bad reason, or no reason at all. unfortunately!
Posted on 5/29/15 at 9:26 am to Pettifogger
He would have missed a lot more than just a half if he would have still been at UGA.
Not good enough to not break the law....again.

Hey, I think pot should be legal, just pointing out an example of how it's not accurate to do the "look at teh thUGA! They have five guys suspended for the first two games!" When the same incident at auburn gets you a two quarter suspension (and that is only due to having been kicked off another team already). Harsher punishments make our dirty laundry way more noticeable.
Not saying you're the type that makes that argument, but plenty of auburn mouth breathers do.

We go live to the SEC Rant message boards, that Auburnphan claims he doesn't care about, yet posts hundreds daily, to see a new argument being made by Auburnphan himself:
quote:
Saint Richt as the biggest underachiever in college football.
The breaking news was actually the fact he did not use the word mutt in the post.
