Not to minimize this but honestly, if you’re a GA fan and didn’t pick this game as the one away game on the schedule to attend, you need to reconsider your fandom. Pretty much the same as the Notre Dame game for them last year.

Ohio State coming down in '86 was pretty impressive.

UGA has a horrid home slate, so we’re more open to travel. South Bend, Pasadena and now Baton Rouge. Those are bucket list items for most college football fans, and us Dawg fans recognize it. I hate the SEC rotating schedule, we’ll be back in 2030. That’s fricking stupid and unfortunate

This lacks some context, though. While what Georgia did was impressive, it’s sort of unprecedented in the current state of the SEC.

With the current East/West rotation being every 12 years, it gives a lot of motivation for teams to travel to these games when they have the chance. This was a perfect storm of a championship contending team from the East visiting one of the premier road trips in college football. It’s no surprise so many UGA fans made the trip out of it.

The only other SEC teams that have been contenders since the new rotation has been set has been Florida, Auburn, and Alabama and they all get to visit Death Valley every other year, not once every fricking 12

Blame Slive, Mizzou, and TAMU.

Also blame the permanent cross-div fake manufactured rivalries like LSU-UF and TAMU-USC.

It’s sad but true when a conference opponent is a bucket list destination similar to the Rose Bowl and South Bend. The SEC needs to address this soon. I feel the same way about Athens. I’ve never been, but I know a bunch of people that rave about the whole experience and atmosphere. It’s a cant miss trip the next time it rolls around.

It was also a perfect storm for Georgia. Expectations were sky high coming into the season, and there are a lot of good vibes about the overall direction of the program. That combined with a legendary atmosphere, and their first big game of the season motivated their fan base to make the trip, including paying premium $$ for bad seats.

But it was awesome when the Red Sea "de-parted"!

I agree, but you still have to get off your butts and do it. And they did it.

Watching O coach circles around Kirby wasn’t fun yesterday, but it was cool to see our fans travel so well. Congrats on the win, hopefully we stick to what works from here on out.

That’s kind of my point. To rotate cross-divisional games every 12 years is a joke. I wonder what a 9 game conference schedule would do. Tuscaloosa is another one I’d like to catch. It’s been way too long
