t's still a small enough number that dropping 30 yards in a game hurts your average significantly.

Well this yards in a game keeps getting smaller, but no it doesnt. it might effect avg by about 10-15yards which is about a 15 place ranking drop.

I do think discounting the ND performance is dubious.

I didnt discount them, their stat is in the average. but those others under 100 were awful and thats 1 vs 5. State, even though you won also ran for well over 100

ND is one dimensional, allowing to focus on one aspect of the game tremendously helps a D

Ok,once again.Do you think Bamas defensive stats are meaningless because of the quality of their opponents?

You seem to think that's the case with UGA

the poster was bragging

Why does this bother You?

holding bad rush teams to bad stats and using that in comparison to much better rush teams.

The only thing more meaningless than comparative scores are comparative stats.

That is also pretty much the only team of merit you have played

You really think you played some jaugernot of a schedule? Your giving LSU and A&M way too much credit.

Like I have stated numerous times, game will be close

So do the vast majority of UGA fans.

So why couldn't
NC State or MSU stop them?

15 places is significant, imo. That's really my point.

Most of that was in garbage time. If Auburn runs the ball on Georgia's regular rotation like State did, it could get ugly. I don't expect that, fwiw.

That hasn't helped anyone else, apparently.

once again, do you know what a red herring is?

yes holding teams that cant rush a ball to minimal rushing stats shouldnt be considered

In comparison for rushing schools vs rushing stats, yes Auburn has played better teams. So when someone says we held 6 teams to under 100 vs 3 teams, there is a difference. to say there isnt is laughable

Not what I am seeing on here, but I also not saying every UGA fan is saying the opposite

UGA has faced 3 teams over 100 ranking vs AU's 1
UGA has faced 5 teams over 50 vs AU's 2

there is a clear difference on Rush O's faced, to say there isnt, is being dishonest. These are averages most of the way into the season. you could have an argument 4-5 games in, but not 9

same could be said for both teams

Nor should garbage rushing yards in blowouts but somehow you think it is

I haven't said that. I just said that having played UGA probably impacts their rushing rankings. The same could be said for teams that have played Auburn.

I'm only talking about the UGA vs. MSU game. UGA rush defense was excellent in that game while it was remotely competitive. I didn't watch the Auburn-MSU game so I don't know if it was similar or not.

We held the #5 rushing offense in the country to 55 yards, 265 yards less then their average....

We held the #11 rushing offense in the country to 177 yards, 80 yards below their season average

These are averages that include our game against them...so, if you take our game out, they would be much higher averages.

Also, ND has played the #3, #5, and #30 rush defenses in the country...

In fairness, State is 3rd in the SEC in rushing. They are 11th in the nation in rushing. Notre Dame is 5th in the nation, and Auburn is 20th. Auburn will be the third best rushing team we will have played.

However, if we hold Auburn to 100 yards rushing we will win the game. (Unless, of course they throw for 500 yards. )

Auburn will be the most balanced team you have played all year. There are only 3 teams in the country that average over 225 yards rushing per game and 225 yards passing per game. USF, Ohio State, and Auburn. The two best offenses UGA has played are Missouri (#15) and Notre Dame (#13). Both of those games the offenses had some success, at least in terms of scoring roughly 20 points. But neither one of those offenses are very balanced- they are either extreme of great running and great passing attacks.

Just another note about some of the offenses UGA has faced this year: Florida, South Carolina, Vandy, and Tennessee, rank #111, #114, #118, and #125 respectively.

Outside of Alabama last year, when we were very banged up, Auburn really hasn't been "blown out" in a game since LSU 2015. And most of our loses in the past two years have been on the road, with the exception of the first game against Clemson last year. I really have no doubt that Auburn's defense and balances attack is going to keep us in the game into the 4th quarter. The question is, can Auburn give Stidham time in the pocket and make the plays down the stretch to win a big game. Hoping home field advantage gives us the edge in the 4th quarter Saturday, I see it coming down to the wire.
