It’s weird how Florida is playing us for the 4th time, 3rd at Kyle. I wonder if this match up was decided, if strategic or by chance.
And for the guy who said Georgia isn’t scared of A&M? That’s literally not what the article is about lol wtf, why you adding that disclaimer in when no one said that

We haven't played in Athens either, under the current rotation. UGA came to BR in 2018, and that's it.

I don’t like our game is at Jerry World but your school has this loyalty to him to play there, we don’t complain

Aggies have already played in Athens. The issue is UGA pussing out of coming to Kyle.
Again, read up a few posts.
When Mizzou and A&M joined, the SEC scrambled to get them games in 2012 and 2013. In 2014 a scheduling cycle began. UGA (and every other team) ran through 6 games against their opposing division teams, alternating home and away for that rotating game every year. Then in 2020 that schedule started over again - swapping 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 on the schedule to have the reverse location of each game (though 2 more teams were added from the opposite division due to covid in 2020).
UGA played Arkansas/Bama/OM/MSU/LSU/A&M through 2019 to do the first half of their cycle. The second half is/was Bama/Arkansas/MSU/OM/A&M/LSU. A&M and LSU are in 2024 and 2025... so if UT/OU are in the SEC before then the schedule is up for grabs.
It's possible UGA argued to not face A&M in 2012,2013 or 2020... but the rest of the time is simply the schedule rotation. Most teams for 2020 got the teams they were supposed to face in 2021 and 2022 put on their schedule (which for UGA was Arkansas and MSU... for A&M they didn't get that... instead getting Tennessee and Vandy instead of Mizzou and Florida... probably because they played Mizzou in 2012 and 2013 and UF in 2012 and didn't want to add to those series while not playing other teams)
A&M also has odd scheduling in that they traded Mizzou for SC as their permanent opponent in 2014, while Arkansas went from SC to Mizzou. That impacted those 4 teams but nobody else.

Yes, you two are the last two on the 12 year schedule rotation began in 2014. After OM in 2023, we play A&M at their place in 2024 and LSU in Athens in 2025

We do need to go to Kentucky. We will be to Tennessee twice before we go to Kentucky once. I always figured the conference handled scheduling. Not sure how much input the schools have.

Georgia has always dodged the more difficult teams of the SEC, going back many decades.
When they won the SEC/NC in 1980, they didn't play any of the ranked SEC teams in the process. The only ranked team they played all year was #7 Notre Dame in the bowl. During Hershel Walkers entire career, he never once played a game against Alabama.
So it doesn't really have much to do with Kyle Field, it's just what Georgia does. Over the past 20 years, Alabama has played them a total of 6 times in the regular season.
Since 1965, Alabama has played Georgia only 16 times in the regular season. Basically, after bear went like 5-1 against them, they were like nah.
Interesting take, but completely historically inaccurate. Scheduling in the SEC was effectively free-for-all until 1992. From WW2 until 1965, UGA and Bama played every year. 1966-1991 they played 8 times... but you're wrong in thinking that came from UGA.
Bama didn't play Auburn much until post WW2... so they added them as a team they wanted to play every year then. Starting in 1965 they also decided they wanted to play LSU every year... from ww2 to 1964 they played LSU only 9 times. With that Bama decision, the UGA game ended as a regular thing. UGA ended up having to pick up Ole Miss (a team far away in the SEC map at the time who UGA almost never played before) as a regular opponent because of Bama's move. UGA had no desire for that game.
That's why when the SEC went to divisions, UGA had Auburn and Ole Miss as their permanent opponents (back when we had 2)... because Bama dropped them and Ole Miss was the team they played regularly from the west at that point other than Auburn.
After divisions were formed, the fact UGA was in the opposite division from Bama and had AU and OM as their permanent opponents meant that the games would be scarce.

Yeah, that's what I figured. The last time we played in Athens was in 2013, so that would actually put us right on schedule.

SEC doesnt want the aggies to lose more than 4 games. Clearly.

There was also a point shaving scandal and lawsuite with Bear and Wally Butts and a phone company plus my father said the pranks between uga and alabama got out of hand and some students got killed in a car crash. Both Governors decided to not play yearly

I thought college football started in 2000 based on most of the folks on this board.

You suck in ATL.

Some younger fans might believe that.
I graduated in 2000. Watched plenty of UGA football before that and am pretty aware of the history.
When I was in school I had to look up why we played a random team like Ole Miss every year. That's when I learned about Bama dropping UGA yearly for LSU and UGA picking up Ole Miss.

UGA is actually pretty good in ATL. 18-9 since 2000.

Do you really want us to come to College Station? Be honest. You just lost to Appalachian State. We are the reigning national champions and the number one ranked team in the country. Do you really want us to come to College Station?
