The new state of CFB with NIL and unrestricted transfers is that every team is beatable by almost any team with half a pulse. The "good" teams are the ones that have to have a bigger off day to be beat so week to week they accumulate fewer losses.

The days of Juggernaut teams who can still win against top 25 opponents even if they play poorly simply due to their team being that much better are over.

Nothing to lose is a false claim.

But the game is more important for Texas.

If UGA loses, they'll have 2 losses and won't make the SECCG. But as long as they beat GT they'll finish 10-2 and be in the playoff in virtually any scenario.

If Texas loses they'll have 3 losses. They'll then have to beat A&M to have ANY shot at the playoff and even that would put them behind UGA in the selection order.

Remember, UGA has only 1 loss right now. OU and Texas have 2 each.

What UGA needed in those games was more talented depth than heir opponents and not luck. What UGA did against those 4 teams is kind of the norm for Kirby Smart coached teams. It is not unusual which would suggest it isn't luck but some tangible factor and that factor is being more talented more deep in your roster than your opponents. Being a UGA fan is not for the timid, especially with Kirby Smart's philosophy of allowing an opponent to punch themselves out for 28 minutes in the first half and then simply out physically playing whoever it is who ain't named Alabama....are other teams with as much talented depth who can do the same thing. This is one reason why Smart can't beat Alabama...and he can't...because Alabama has similar talent and depth and UGA comes up short. Kirby does what Alabama and Saban does....takes your best shot and then simply strangles you. When your defense is hands on hips and gasping for air and UGA runs out a group of linemen who could start at most programs and a tailback who is as fresh as when he stepped off the bus you are fricked 9 ways from Sunday.
