When talking about recruiting at South Carolina, Spurrier mentioned that he signed a player from the state of Alabama, offering a comparison to his recruiting when at Florida, said; "In 12 years at Florida, I don't think we ever signed a kid from the state of Alabama"; But then he immediately added the punch: "Of course, we found out later that the scholarships they were giving out at Alabama were worth a whole lot more than ours." (in reference to the University of Alabama recruiting violations in the early 2000s)

"I kind of took it more as a shot at the NFL," said Grantham, who coached in the league for 11 seasons. "I really wasn't sure if it was because of his lack of success there or what." Todd Grantham's response.

Spurrier taking a jab at the UGA DC when he said something about how they must not see a whole lot of some basic running play in the NFL.
The actual quote was:

"...That little inside zone play (we ran), the NFL doesn't run that play. That's a new scheme I guess. I'm sure they knew we'd run it, but they certainly didn't stop it much."

"Look our players in the eyes!!"- Petrino

As you all know, we've had quite a few calls not go our way the past 2 years..The entire Florida game in '09, the Auburn goal line "fumble", Ridley being out of bounds, etc.

I guess Petrino couldn't take it anymore. After a horrible fumble call during the South Carolina game, he told the refs to "look our players in the eyes" next time they make a call like that. Don't think we had a shitty call the rest of the season

Meh...you had your fair share of game-changing calls go your way in that game, too. The 4th and 6 reception by Williams wasn't close to a 1st down, and the PI called on Demond Washington on 3rd down in the end zone was a bad call as well.

Do I hate Georgia? Yes, more than any team. But don't project that out to "dawgsession" so easily.

I guess Spurrier won too when asked about Georgia and he had some smart arse comment about us losing to Vanderbilt in 2006.
Wanna guess who he lost to for the next two years?

I'm just happy we have someone that will jab back. St. Valium won't.
