Feels like the perception stems from the Fields transfer which I don’t think is fair. I think your downplaying the pitch Kirby can throw at him, offense not centered around QBs will be the tough sell but something to the effect of “we haven’t had a talent like u, had to keep playbook simple for walk on”. Idk though don’t follow you guys much.

SEC East is still better than the PaC 12

Lots of talent but how much of it is proven during games. Williams has shown it on the field and only finishing freshman yr. Can’t pass on him if u got a chance.

So Caleb wants a nice NIL deal.
I wonder where he got that idea.
Maybe from the longhorns stating what they would pay Ewers to keep him from going to Tech.
Or maybe the propaganda article made by Sooners on the NIL money and A&M.
Oh the irony.
Longhorns and Sooners causing problems for their teams. The gift that keeps giving.
And Sankey is letting these clowns in the SEC.

This is probably correct. That and Eason. But they were beaten out by Fromm (and they decided to leave) Hard to develop a QB when they transfer out after year 1.

This is a legit point. And, I actually think we are trying to open up the offense. If we get a legit QB we will be very different. I am also hearing they will be bringing in a QB coach, too, so that could/should help.
I tend to be a bit on the pessimist side as a whole when it comes to college football.

Fields was always better than Fromm lol

Another legit point. I think a lot of Georgia fans are a little wary of portal QBs because of JT Daniels. We have gotten very little out of him due to injuries and whatever else is going on. My preference would be if Daniels stayed and played a full year (if he can stay healthy). If not, then I agree that Williams would be a good option.
My hesitation would be if Williams came here we would probably lose Vandegriff and already will be losing (probably) Beck.

Ohio State had recruited better than Georgia to that point. Fields did nothing that Fromm did not do.
Did he put up better stats? yes. Did he have a higher upside? yes.
But...let me put it this way. If Ole Miss had gone to the National Championship with Corrall and they recruited a 5* QB do you think they would bench Corral for the young gun slinger, or would they stick with the guy that took them to the title game?
I get that Corral was a 5*, too, but Fromm was a 4*. It's not like he was some scrub QB. he had a rating of .9704 and was the 44th player in the nation and #3 QB coming out of HS. He was not that far off from being a 5*.

They are not in the SEC yet. I keep thinking that sooner or later they are going to come to their senses and realize how easy they have it in the BDF and decide to stay.

Fromm is not Corral. I get what you're trying to say but let me rephrase it with Luke Altmyer instead of Corral and my answer is yes, play Fields

Not to mention, Bama was tore up when he decommitted.

You're right. Corral was rated .9690 out of HS and Fromm was rated .9704
Corral was rated #63 in his class and Fromm was rated #44.
Fromm led us to a national Championship game his freshman year, and Corral did not start.
This is what you don't seem capable of understanding. We weren't just going to toss Fromm aside for an unproven kid coming out of HS. Yes, Fields probably had the better career, but that is all hindsight.

It's always easy to say what could/should have been done in hindsight. Not so easy when you are in the middle of things.

Ok. So lets say Corral led Ole Miss to a national Championship game in his freshman season. Would you bench him in favor of an unproven QB? One who was struggling with the play book? Fromm was rated a higher QB than Corral and had just taken us to the National Championship game that we barely lost.

But why not Corral? Fromm was rated higher and had just taken us to the National Championship game.
The reason is because you can look back. You have hindsight. We did not have that in 2018, except what we had is a highly rated QB that had proven himself against another very highly rated QB that was unproven. Who would you stick with as a coach? The highly rated proven QB, or the highly rated unproven QB?
ETA
Don't misunderstand me, because i think Corral is great and will do well in the NFL. But check out Fromm's statistics and put them against Corral's. ONLY their first 3 years, since Fromm left after 3.

An argument could be made a QB the caliber of Williams can turn a lot of places into good situations especially with the talent Uga has. Surprised dawg fans seem like they don’t have a chance of getting him.
Yeah I don't think theres an argument that UGA is a bad situation from a team sense, its just whether or not QBs can trust Kirby to play the best guy
