Seen Matta, Crean, and Earl Grant thrown out as initial options.

If Crean wants the job, that's gotta be your guy. If you're serious about getting better.

Matta would be my first choice if he's healthy and really wants to get back into coaching

They kept going on and on about those 20 win seasons yesterday.

It's a football argument for a sport that literally only hinges around a 64-team tournament. Who gives a shite how many games you win in a year if it doesn't lead to 1.) making the dance and 2.) winning when you get there.

Winning seasons matter in football because for all but 4 teams a year it's the only meaningful measuring stick. For basketball it's an excuse to keep a meh coach.

I'd take Crean. He recovered from some IU harsh sanctions and his final years at IU were more bad luck w injuries etc than anything

If you pull Cream, you probably snag 2019 top 10 Trendon Watford from BHam plus a few other top recruits in ATL

Andy Kennedy was forced out of Ole Miss for a much better performance

I think Kennedy got the shaft though. What he did at Ole Miss was incredible

Another coach worse than Billy Kennedy fired. He now stands alone as the worst coach in the league.

Crean at UGA could be scary. I like the run and gun offense

He made it further than any other coach would have in the SECT this year with what he had.

Somebody brought it up on the GSB, but it was a great point:

People will use Crean's mediocre record in the tournament to say he's not a really good coach. He went 11-9.

If he goes 11-9 over 9-10 years at Georgia in the tournament, I don't think there will be terribly fierce bitching out of us.

Cream couldn't win at Indiana, but hire him.
