Goodbye
Georgia is expected to part ways with head coach Mark Fox, multiple sources told ESPN.
Intermediaries on behalf of the Bulldogs began reaching out to gauge the interest of potential replacements over the last several days, sources said. Todd Turner and Collegiate Sports Associates are expected to be retained to help with the search.
Fox, 49, was hired in 2009 and took the Bulldogs to a pair of NCAA tournaments in nine seasons. Georgia went in 2011 and again in 2015, but the program failed to go again over the past three years.
Georgia finished 39-29 in 2016 and 2017, making back-to-back NIT appearances. This season, the Bulldogs are 18-15 and are likely to miss out on the NCAA tournament yet again.
Overall, Fox finished 163-133 in nine seasons in Athens.
Fox previously coached at Nevada, where he led the Wolf Pack to three NCAA tourney appearances in five seasons

Georgia could have a great program with a good hire.
Fully expect them to hire a Tony Barbee caliber coach

Seen Matta, Crean, and Earl Grant thrown out as initial options.

As a Mizzou fan, thank goodness

Earl Grant? Are you fricking stupid or something? I’d rather keep Fox...

Fox seemed to have an issue with generating offensive production. His defenses seemed solid for the most part.

Just saying I've seen his name mentioned as an option if we went the mid major route.

I would hire Steve Forbes before somebody else does.

Earl Grant should not be an option

Georgia won't even speak to Forbes due to the show cause penalty in his past.

Tom Crean or Thad Matta need to get a phone call from UGA today. They may say no, but you make them tell you no.

I'll miss Frank owning him

Rumor is Georgia is pretty far down the road with Tom Crean already, if Rebel of Fortune is correct.
It's been rumored that Crean and Georgia have had mutual interest for a while.
