I don't think we're a shoe-in. We've got a better shot than most of the Richt-coached teams but it's still a long ways away. Anything can happen before then.

not the reasonable ones. LSU has some of those fans too.

Ftr, UGA hasn't beaten saban since saban's first year at Bama. 0-4 since.

There wont be a bama/ga repeat national championship game. Hate to tell GA that

So we will have to play Ohio St. or Clemson.

Well, that settles it then, right? he was right!
He must be exhausted for jumping to all those conclusions.

In fairness, we did have one poster that started a thread like he described, but crap. One poster and we all get painted with a broad brush.

Georgia fans take nothing for granted, especially when it comes to football.

Georgia hadn't reached a National Championship game since 1983, either, but we did this past year.

Sometimes things happen. I mean, if UCF can do it, then we can, too!

Most fans are looking at 2019 as our best chance to make a serious push.

The goal for 2018 is to repeat in the East and be competitive in the SECG (win or lose).

The offense will be better.
The defense will be worse.
But the run game determines championships and we will throw more next season resulting in a loss or 2 that we don't expect.
Our run defense may take a step back with the expected linebacker play.

Still... 2019 is the year.

For sure, you guys are in a great spot.

However, I believe the point is nattys take a lot of things going right besides just having talent and coaching. There are gonna be 5-6 teams every year good enough to win one but only one winner.

This year Bama, UGA, OSU, Oklahoma, Clemson, and AU were all good enough.

Comparing UGA's loss to Bama, where you could pick out many plays that if any one of them went another way UGA wins, to the faceplant LSU had in the Superdome against Bama....

Have a down vote, sir.

You don't know jack about the roster. Impact players leaving are Roquan and Trent. Trent wasn't even a starter but a top caliber DT. If he return this defense would be more talented and deeper than 2017. There is a group of talented ILBs waiting on their turn. Highly rated. The secondary will be replaced by better skilled personnel. If Baker return the secondary will be top 5 SEC next year. I would say top 3 statistically but just like 2017, Dawgs gonna be so far ahead in every game they play teams will be slinging it constantly. They will complete a couple.

The line of scrimmage matters. Alabama, Georgia, Clemson were the top 3 line of scrimmage teams this year. Oklahoma had a great OL, maybe best of all, and a lesser DL.

That's why all those teams were in the playoffs.

We lose one OL and one DL (pending early entry) and get everyone else back. As Kirby said, we're not going anywhere, no matter how much other SEC fans won't to equate our team with previous versions of theirs, or Mark Richt UGA squads.

Most long time Georgia fans were expecting great improvement this year, but the potential for a half step back in 2018 due to the probable loss of some top starters. We have been thinking 2019 might be THE year, with more to follow as the recruiting moves to the top.

I don't known where to begin.

Do you want to start by telling me your expectations for 2018?
(Ypg allowed by the defense.
Ppg allowed by the defense.
Rushing/game allowed by the defense).

Or would you rather look at the position groups for next year?
