Gene Chizik predicts Auburn to go 10-2

Former Auburn head coach Gene Chizik predicted Wednesday that Auburn will go 10-2 in the coming football season.
Chizik, on the College Sports Today show on Sirius satellite radio, said he expects Auburn to lose at home to South Carolina and on the road at Alabama.
Chizik said he believes South Carolina is “loaded” for the coming season. “I think South Carolina will get them,” he said.
Alabama got Chizik’s nod because the game is at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
“That’s almost one of those 50-50 deals,” Chizik said. “If the game was at Auburn, I would pick Auburn.”
Chizik was Auburn’s head coach from 2009-2012. His 2010 team, led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Cam Newton, went 14-0 and won the BCS national championship. He was fired after going 3-9 in 2012.

I heard his interview on Sirius 91 today and it was pretty level headed, but I was surprised he picked Carolina to win. That was the only head scratcher with his prediction.
Auburn can lose to Bama and still win the West this year, IMO.
