Megan Mullen was already way more successful in the state of Florida than 8 of the last 10 Gator coaches. She had a career at the Golf Channel, where she wasn't fired or forced to slide out of town due to a nervous breakdown. She'll be fine

I like Mullen and Miss. St ok, but I really don't get that the guy is a very good coach. Good, yes, but not very good.

Let alone the fact that it's going to be hard to compete with consistent title contenders, but take a look at Miss. St. vs similar programs since he's been there. I compiled this with Stassen, and it's only through 2016.

Through last year Mullen is
4-3 vs Ole Miss
4-3 vs Arkansas
3-4 vs Auburn
1-3 vs Texas A&M

I think UF can do better than this.

There's a reason that neither Charlie Strong and Bob Stoops had any interest in returning to Gainesvile 3 years ago or why UF had to settle on Muschamp in 2010.

Your record vs. other teams numbers look to be a few years off.

You have to keep in mind he is doing all of this at MSU, a school with an under .500 historical win percentage, located in the middle of nowhere Mississippi, and he is doing it with, according to so called experts, "inferior talent".

While we are waaaaaaaay better now than we have been historically, what he has done to change the program is damn near miraculous.

Let's also not mention that he is doing this in the SECW, which has been historically strong the whole time he has been here, and he has won something like 75% of his games against the East.

Mullen was never going back to Gainesville. The Florida fanbase is kind of like Ohio State's fanbase. They want to fire their coach anytime he hits a rough spot. McElwain wins the east twice then loses some games the next year and they run him off before the season is over.

There was a lot of drama there before Urban flamed out, it carried over to Muschamp and McElwain. Who is to say it won't be around for the next coach, whomever it might be.

You guys seem to get off at the false narrative that we somehow pushed this story. Hate to break it to you but State isn't that important to Ole Miss like you think they are

I don't think facilities are as much of an issue as they were before mcelwain got there. It's the one thing he did right.

It sounds like that is at least one positive from him. Also, isn't your current recruiting class looking pretty good?

I do not get want some Florida fans are dismissing Mullen's coaching ability, though, he has done really well at Miss State.

To be fair, most of the Mullen talk on tRant was driven by delusional Ole Miss posters.

UF has to identify and fix whatever the huge problem is down there. 2 of the last 3 full-time coaches have left because of stressful break-downs. Urban and Mac both basically said "we don't care what y'all believe or how awkward this seems, we just want he f*ck out of Gainesville. This job is too much bs to handle". That has to be a huge red flag for potential candidates, especially with so many jobs coming open in the next few weeks.

And yet here you are, making definitive statements in back-to-back posts regarding MSU.

And it's because Godfrey isn't a rebel? Is that it?

LINK

Note the date of this article. Monday. Steven Not-a-Rebel Godfrey could not wait to be the expert on Mullen to Florida

Currently # 6 and #1 in the SEC

Mullen can coach. UF has not had a better QB than Miss State since Mullen left UF outside of Tebow's last year.

You could have saved 3-4 embarrassingly errant threads Monday for posters who were 100% sure that Mullen was signed, sealed, and delivered.

Were those started by UF fans.

Most of us don't want him in my experience in real life. That's good for both of us.

We aren't going to pay him enough to move him and he likely is happy where he is. The pressure difference between the two schools is enormous.

I fully understand why he'd rather continue to be at MSU. That's not a bad thing.
