Muschamp needs to do a lot more than just fix your offense. Those defenses have been pretty bad for a supposed defensive guru. Vanderbilt and South Carolina were the only 2 teams in the East not to have a Top 25 defense last season. He's heading into year 5 with 0 Top 25 defenses and only 1 Top 50.

2016: #62 Total defense
2017: #44 Total defense
2018: #84 Total defense
2019: #67 Total defense

A large part of that can be attributed to the inability of the offense to sustain drives. The defense was simply too gassed to hold out for 4 quarters.

I'm still not fully buying that.

Tennessee has dealt with the same issues on offense (#100 nationally, 5 spots worse than S. Carolina) and have still managed to improve dramatically on defense each year since Pruitt took over. Missouri sucked offensively last season (#92 nationally) and still had a Top 15 defense. Kentucky couldn't throw a forward pass (#75 offensively) and still fielded an elite defense. At some point you just have to call a spade a spade. He isn't a good HC OR elite defensive mind anymore.

When Pruitt hangs three in a row on them by '21, they'll can him. Muschamp's impressive streak against VOLS was his only desirable trait

The Lols finally beat Muschamp after 8 tries and suddenly they'll never lose again? Ok

The defense was not good any of those years, except for 1 or 2 players. The rest of them were/are average at best.

If we fire Muschamp and keep Ray Tanner as AD, we'll probably haul off and hire Bobo as head coach.

Realistically I can't see the board wanting the optics of paying a big buyout this year with everything else going on, so my only hope is that Tanner gets moved to some sort of ambassador role or retires this year. Find a competent AD to replace Muschamp in 2021.
