I predict he gets shitcanned the Monday after your trip to Baton Rouge on 11/14/20. It will be his last conference game and it would be stupid to wait until the end of the season after a win over Wofford and a loss to Clemson. Hope y'all can get the next one right.

Knowing our luck, he will find a way to beat LSU by 2 touchdowns and save his arse again.

Sooner rather than later I hope. Hopefully Ray Tanner isn't far behind.

USCe fans are dumb. Success of a program is a result of stability not turn over. Boom might be a maniac but at least he’s your maniac.

With all the budget cuts around college football I'd be surprised if any p5 coach gets fired for on the field issues

Yeah, unless you can pin NCAA or other violations/missteps on a coach, anyone with a 7 figure buyout or larger is probably safe this year, even at places like Texas and USC. The cash flow is drying up this year and athletic departments will be cutting budgets, not buying out coaches. Hell, we may have to all pass the hat for Vandy to keep their doors open. They are already firing AD admin.

I’m not sure what they expected. If you can’t win at Florida you can’t win anywhere. Ron Zook 2.0

The freakish win at Georgia saved his a** last year. Georgia should have won that game but it was a battle of which coach would suck less that day. Some forget that the UK win could have easily been a loss but Stoops waited until the 4th quarter to put the WR in at qb. Once that kid went in he ran all over the defense.

Boom could have easily been just a 2 win coach last year....in his fourth season. We’ve got 8 years of data now and there is no evidence he can be a good head coach. He’s a fabulous recruiter, he just doesn’t seem to be capable of winning many football games.

As a gamecock fan I’m hoping we don’t have football so I don’t have to watch another miserable season ending in a prison rape by our rival. If we do play this year, I agree with others that this is probably the one season where every coach is safe....too little athletic department money to make a hire and too many excuses as to why a coach would do poorly this year.

So for me, instead of watching suckiness this year and next year, I prefer we don’t play this year and Boom can just do normal suckiness in 2021 alone.....then he gets fired.

This is gonna be such a weird season. Any other year, I think he’s done. But with a lot of budget cuts, I think he gets another year. Possibly if he gets canned, you could get a quality coach for a discount.

He will get a year maybe two. They have some things in place. New facility and rabid fan base. They did ok in recruiting. Burch and the RB they signed. I have seen it worse for them.

Is he still the “coach in waiting” at TEXAS?

Lol... You have it exactly backwards. They may be the least extended Ath Dept in terms of expenses in the SEC, coupled with, likely, the wealthiest group of alumni and deepest external pockets out there (short of maybe aTm).

Cv-19 was Vandy's long game to choke out the competition and rise from the ashes as the best postured program going forward. The 'dores are about to re-live their pre-WWII heyday. The Aggies, too.
