The team sucked on Saturday night, but the fans showed out as usual. The stadium was at near capacity at kickoff after a 2-hour weather delay with kickoff just past 9:00 ET. Proud to say I was one of them.

Yalls game Saturday will be very interesting against Vanderbilt! Interesting that yall both played a common OOC opponent.

Vanderbilt has looked much better than we have so far this season. SC needs to play much better to knock them off on Saturday.

I didn’t go but my Son was there. He said it had a get drunk and party atmosphere going on .... until halftime when everybody was pissed at Shula.

The 2.5 hour delay was no fun.

I hope they're ready for Vandy to come to town. Vandy fans seem very confident that they're going to throw a whoopin' on us after what they did to VT.

SC has had drives this year that were perfection, but far too many sputtering messes.

Thr first half of SC State was a disaster. But the second showed some decent work, and some great throws, especially that deep shot to Jacobs.

No two ways around it, the season starts in earnest on Saturday. Boys need to be ready with a confident Vandy on hand.

100%. We need a complete performance (similar to A&M last year).

you guys were truly incredible, and made me proud. Not many SEC stadiums would be full vs SC state, but they certainly wouldnt be after a 2+ hour delay with very little updates from the university.

The offense may suck, but our fans don't

Gamecock radio network's coverage was entertaining during pregame and the delay - you could hear the student section - apparently 41K student tix were claimed per radio - having one helluva party in the N EZ right before the squalls and sheets of rain opened up -

we have a good history of games delayed by rains/weather since the turn of the century - UK 2007 - North Carolina 2013 - Missouri 2018 - it seems to transform at least one of our guys to single-handed get us a win -

Eric Norwood - Mike Davis - Michael Scarnecchia - and now Vicari Swain with 2 Punt Ret TD

Tommy Suggs "cause offense is horrible tonight" at 0:45 second mark

My brother and I had season tickets from 2000 to 2016. Nothing like a rocking night at Williams Brice.. I say that as someone who has been to The Swamp. Rocky Top, Bama(although it was in 04) Ole miss, Clemson, Auburn and a few others, Hard to beat it

I don’t know why people are pissed at Shula. The offensive line has sucked since Muschamp, and it has gotten worse each year since Beamer arrived.

I believe they were mad at Shula because of the play calling.

I think it's a combination of Shula and the offensive line. The offensive line was bad last year too but the offense was still humming at the end of the year.

I'm not that confident, mainly because of recent history between them. Vandy just can't win. I definitely hope they finally pull of a win against SC , though.

If Vandy could pull off the upset, they would most likely have a 5-0 record going into Tuscaloosa.

That would be one heck of a story in week 6.

This team in this year should not be losing to Vandy, but they always play us tough no matter how bad or good either team is or what combination it comes in. Eventually they'll have to snag one again, but I just hope it's not this year.

Which is inexcusable in this day and age. You can literally go out and buy a new one each year if needed and Beamed continues to go the dollar general route with it.

My daughter came very close to going to South Carolina. We visited in 2022 during the Mizzou game.

She stayed with two girls that went to her high school. She had a ball.

When we went to the game we stopped by the frat lot. She was with the two girls who were in a sorority. Those kids were having a ball.

That frat lot party was incredible and we had a great time. Of course, it helped that Mizzou won, but the campus and town were great.
