Rules question that was floated at lunch today...

In the example of the McNeese State/LSU game, LSU punted to McNeese. If McNeese kicked a field goal putting the score to 3-0, would the game be as easily cancelled? Does McNeese kicking a field goal change the dynamics of the cancellation policy?

Yes. Everyone on this board would have considered it a loss for LSU.
Except LSU fans.

If you watched the game you would know Mcneese went 3 and out, and punted to LSU and it was lsu's possession when the game was called. To answer your question it all depends on how much time had been played IMO.

Yep. Even though McNeese went backwards on their only 3 Offensive plays.......if they kicked a FG they would win and LSU would just have to live with it

I honestly thought that was why they seemed to be dawdling over restarting the game while I was at the game. I think they knew the game would be delayed a second time and I wondered if that scenario crossed the managements minds...

That scenario must have crossed their minds. Nice insight.

I love all the free publicity Aggies give to LSU on this board.

Talk more about LSU than your own shitty program.

Game would've been canceled no matter what. Score could've been anything, since only 5 minutes were played, it wouldn't of counted. And since it didn't happen, let's move on.

Unless a certain amount of time has passed (not sure what that is), the game would be ruled a no contest regardless.
