For my fellow hosts, are you starting your Friday Night Ace game one or saving him for Saturday?

For A&M, Grambling is one of the worst teams in the entire tournament. I would be surprised if we used our ace or even top reliever.

The Pros:
-Almost Guarantees a Win
-Save the Bullpen for the weekend
-Just enough rest to use in a potential Monday game

The Cons:
-Can't use your best vs the 2/3 Seed on Saturday & Sunday.
-If they have a blow-up game & lose/get pulled early, the regional gets extremely difficult.

in the past it was a no brainer to throw down game 1

today, it's a risky strategy as mid majors sometimes have really good #1 pitcher and the mid major teams have benefited from roster sizes as really good players have matriculated to those schools

I would be surprised if ya'll burned Prager against them. We scored 26 runs on them in our mid-week game this year. They are shite.

If we need our ace to beat 4 seed army at home we've got bigger things to worry about.

Our pitching is sketchy enough as it is so I'd prefer to hold our main guys til later

Always go with the Ace out the gate. That way he has time to rest if needed in later games

So, are you the head coach? If so, I wouldn't ask any real advice on this board from anyone here. I'm sure you'll figure it out. If not, it's not anything you can control, so no worries. I'm sure coach has got it figured out.

Right. right. Lets just not discuss sports because the coach has it all handled.

We better not use Kolten in game 1

If we burn him and then lose game 2 (very possible), we will have to win 3 straight games with Zach Harris, Brian Zeldin and a bunch of future insurance salesmen. Might as well quit there

Could you start the ace, and if you get a big lead pull him after 2 or 3 innings, and use him if you needed to in one of the fnals games?

That is an option. You're probably only getting 2-3 innings on Sunday or 3-4 innings on Monday.

Playing a swac school I would pitch down. Playing anyone else I would go with normal rotation.

Saturday is the more pivotal day, imo.

I’d like to see Lampkin pitch Friday

My question is how A&M navigated the weather this weekend. It’s been pretty bad this week when it rains and it’s supposed to be at least 50% chance all weekend

The storm this week blew through Houston quickly. Wasn’t a stationary rain storm by any means.

It’s a 55% thunderstorm forecast all week. It went by very quickly here in Fort Worth but Dallas got rocked and lost power.

Same could happen down there

You should play each weekend starting with the SEC tourney like you're in playoff mode, which is the whole purpose of the tournament. It's the closest thing you get to what you have to do in Omaha to win it all. Always throw your best first.

I think A&M should start their ace. For no particular reason....
