That first KY image is down right silly. The second one was released at media days but they said it will change before the actual design is released soon. They just finalized the Architect and Construction Manager.

Soooo hopefully we will see the final plans soon. Some before said it looks very similar to Ole Miss' design. I agree but like OM's better. Hopefully they take a page from their book.

When VHS was just a 50,000 seat stadium Ole Miss was averaging lower than 50k a game before expansion. After expansion we started averaging 57,000. If you build it, they will come.

I get that point of view, but our state population and demographics do not tend to support either of us putting 60K in our stadiums on the same day. Other than maybe one game a year when the visiting team brings 20,000 people, neither State or Ole Miss will have real demand for a 70K seat stadium in the next 10 years.
ETA: we both count "paid" attendance now instead of actual, so in reality neither of our attendance numbers are even what we report. 70K is a huge reach.

UT is in the planning stages to add an additional 3k seats to get back up to 105k by the start of '16.

I think they are making the seats closer to the field - but it's also strong enough to sustain a 3rd deck if it ever came to that.

Wish they had done this before now. That way, the stadium could have had 25,000 empty seats at the end of the Dooley debacle...

ehhh I dont know about this. Success brings more fans. If freeze can get us to being a legit competitor we can easily ill 70,000, now if and when that happens is the question

The least they could have done is fill in all of the parking.

This! shite gets tight when you put a bunch of fat folks into seats not wide enough for a toddler.

The hand-drawn sketch is more realistic than full parking lots at a UK game.

We can fill 70,000 when we don't suck

Every time we've expanded VHS, the crowds increased, even through the suck years. That being said, the suck years did have terrible attendance.

When we went to 55k under Tuberville, there was a huge debate about it. We were fine.

When we went to 60k under Cutcliffe, there was a debate about it. We were fine.

This is the dumbest fricking bullshite. We were regularly in the Top 25 in attendance nationally until Joker happened.

Know what you're talking about before you make stupid posts.

I am guessing most school's see an increase in attendance after a stadium expansion.
