I LMAO when Fulmer was quoted," I would jump all over it" because it made me think of a pig getting exited into get in slop.

Multiple people laugh, but you single me out?

I see you laugh, but no doubt Chief would've went back with Fulmer in Arky if Fulmer was offered a 3-4 year contract.
No doubt, huh? Would you like to make a bet on that if Fulmer is hired? Because those are very strong odds.

Think about it. Work for a guy you've worked with and are comfortable with for years, escape an incompetent coach on offense, escape fricking nasty arse BR and go to live in one of the most beautiful areas in the country.
And I'm an LSU fan and would leave, so no doubt someone like Chavis with no ties to LSU would bolt.
Oh, I've thought about it, but in a much different sense than you, clearly. Perhaps, you should reconsider your allegiance, as it appears to be waning severely. I would bet money you were all excited and thrilled with Miles last year pre-Jan. 9th. Now, you're all down in the dumps and Miles is "incompetent."
Wow.

Hiring Phil Fulmer would be like hiring this guy all over again.
Both coaches had very good careers but their times have passed.

I can see him jumping for a free chicken dinner. The big question is where to you get doughnuts in Fayetteville?

Availability is one thing. $$$ is not a problem at Arkansas these days. We're valued a top 10 program $-wise, and we have boosters willing to pay for a good coach.
Wasn't that a one year thing? You're not a top 20 coaching destination, you play in the hardest division in football, 3 teams in your division have won 5 national titles in 9 years.
You arky fans have delusions of grandeur when it comes to your program. You have been decent for a total of TWO YEARS IN A ROW and finished the third highest ranked west team one year and the forth highest the other year. You were lucky to land BP when you did because he severely wanted out of Atlanta.

Get used to it, Corndogs. We're here to stay. Might as well suck it up and get used to losing to the Hogs as often as not.

It's one thing to be able to spend however much money you want. It's another thing to get the coach you want to coach at Arkansas. Its a very good job but it's not a place big name coaches are going to be clammering for. And Arkansas football is at it's peak. It won't get any better than it is right now.

Youre dumb. You do realize 4/5 of the top LSU offenses all time in passing and rushing td have been Miles coached teams?

Uh you're exactly where you've always been 3rd and 4th highest ranked team in the west. Man you arky people shoot for the moon

that is ok because now it equates to 3rd or 4th ranked in the nation. I am worried about this season and its affects on our program. We can pay 3-4 million dollars a year for a coach and that gets a lot of NFL guys interested. There is more to the Gruden thing then anyone will ever know but we got Petrino. He proved it can be done here. Our next hire is the most important of our program in this new era.

Yep, if you call the NC the 'moon'.

No "Grade A" coach would/will take the job at Arkansas knowing they would have to compete annually with the the Miles, Saban's & Chizit's in their own Division.
you realize no self respecting grade A coach would be scared off by top level competition... We're just waiting for carroll to get fired from the seahawks.

Top 10 maybe, top 5 no
Arkansas can pay top 10 money, or they think they can attract one because they now think they are a top 10 program?
Running off a list of programs that could be in the top 10, off the top of my head (in terms of what coaches would think would be a "top 10 job")
Alabama
LSU
Texas
Nebraska
Michigan
Ohio State
USC
Notre Dame
Penn State
Georgia
Florida
That's eleven, in no particular order. Which two do you remove to make room for Arkansas?

Well, I think that's a given, but would he have been a better interim than John L?
No. Smith is the best option for an interim coach for the following reasons.
1. Smith was with Petrino at Arkansas for 3 years and he is very familiar with the players and the system in place.
2. It appears that all the players like Smith and are very happy he was named interim coach. This is a very important aspect that should not be overlooked.
3. Smith isn’t going to change anything. He is going to focus on Special Teams, like he has since he has been at Arkansas, and let the Coordinators coordinate.
4. Every coach on staff, except Taver Johnson, has either coached under Smith or with Smith, i.e. everybody knows what to expect from each other therefore, no learning curve needed.
5. Entire staff remains in place with ZERO changes.
Any other coach would have probably made some changes including making a few staff changes and the Hogs don’t need to make any changes this late in the game.
JLS will do a fine job this year managing the team and any team that takes the Hogs lightly because of the Petrino debacle will do so at their own peril. I'm really looking forward to the upcomming season.
