I think when the odds-makers start to think about the fact that Auburn's offense has run all over the best defenses in the SEC, that the SEC has won the NC the last 7 years and that FSU really hasn't played against any decent offenses other than Clemson or defenses other than VT, the point spread will start closing leading up to this game.

Don't forget the New Orleans Saints own Mark Ingram.

Per R.J. Bell of pregame.com, the Las Vegas Hilton opened Florida State as a full seven-point favorite over Auburn.
Florida State opens up as 7-point favorite vs. Auburn
In 2001--the last time FSU was in the BCS title game they were an 11.5 pt favorite over Oklahoma. However, Oklahoma won 13-2.

I mean, last night's game was pretty awful. Florida State has been doing well, but hopefully Auburn overcomes it.

Every year we see the same crap. Teams that blow out cream puffs for 13 weeks and then think for some reason it makes them a great team.
I still remember when Oklahoma was going to post 60 points on Florida.
Texas was going to cream Bama.
Ohio State was going to run all over Florida.
Ohio State was going to punch LSU in the mouth.
Oregon was going to fly with ease.
Okay, the hype for Notre Dame wasn't there but yeah, everyone gets the point.
This is exactly what the SEC has been hearing for the past few years.

I think the thing people are forgetting and Vegas is not is that unlike many of the other cupcakes that ran through an easy schedule to get to a title game, FSU has had extremely successful run at recruiting both lines the last 5 years.
Add good lines to a very good QB/Receiver core and I can easily see why the opening lines are as high as what they were.

Im all in. I Like our chances. AU always does better when we are the road dog.

That's free money I mean if BC could run all over FSU the Gus Bus is gonna roll.

IMO FSU beats AU by at least 14...JMO

should be a great game
Auburn wins if Winston plays relatively poorly again

It's a very similar line to the Bama/Florida SEC Championship Game in 2008. A ton of Bama fans complained about the line and said they weren't getting any respect. Well, it was a close battle until the fourth quarter when Florida pulled away to win by 11 points and ended up covering the spread. There's a reason why FSU is a 9.5 point favorite just like the bookies knew what they were doing when they made Florida a 10.5 point favorite in the 2008 SEC Championship Game.

A dominant nose guard (Terrence Cody mode) would knock the wheels off that bus. Timmy Jernigan can do it.

I think Auburn wins. Their running game isn't a fluke, and it has improved all year. FSU has not played an OL even close to what Auburn brings. Add in Tre Mason and you have a nightmare on defense.
On the other hand, Auburn's pass defense is a bit... suspect, as Mizzou demonstrated. But those are low-probability plays compared to Mason running for 6+ every time he gets the ball.
I don't think it will be a blowout, but Auburn wins by 10+. War Damn Eagle, and all that.

Seriously, people, I simply despise Auburn and have all the bias in the world, but I am not a big fan of the FSU program either as they are an equally dirty program in many respects.
However, take a look at the starting and second team guys for each team, and please tell me where Au has a huge advantage anywhere.
As the Bama man said, given a month to prepare for the rushing attack that is really just a variant of the wing T, FSU' D gains the advantage there as well.
Their schedule was crap, but they pretty much bombed everyone on it. Even when they played like crap against BC, there was still no doubt who was going to win.

Auburn ran all over Alabama, I like the Bus and 10 points any day of the week

A month will make all the difference, and FSU's DL is more athletic than Bama's overall.

FSU did destroy Clemson.
First of all - FSU had a mediocre schedule but they beat everyone pretty much 50-7.
They showed the nation that they were in another class of athletes against #3 Clemson - a Clemson team SEC teams struggled with - FSU blew them out of the water...the game was over at halftime.
FSU has NFL talent all over the field - reminds me of the old Miami teams.
Auburn is a nice story.
