The ACC was 1 of 3 power 5 conferences that voted against having a 12 team playoff this year.
Just think if they had voted differently!

There still wouldn't be a 12 team playoff this year.

I get that Bama fans are celebrating but some of you are saying some really low IQ shite.

FSU needs to blame Georgia.

If Georgia wins, FSU is a shoo in at 4!

So if they had voted to start the playoff this year, it still wouldn't happen because?

Let's hear that fine corndog logic on this one.

No one held a gun to their heads and made them join. Bowden admitted that the SEC would always be a tougher conference for winning a national championship. They could have joined the SEC.

Again, none of this happened.

Could the 12 team playoff have started this year sans the Alliance?

Maybe

However, the ACC did not "vote against having a 12 team playoff this year" because no such vote ever took place.

Can you not fricking read? From the article:

quote:

Finally, in February of 2022, after five months of squabbling with one another in what at times turned into intense debate and petty bickering, commissioners voted. Needing unanimous support, the vote failed, 8-3. The Alliance voted against.

That was before the committee told everyone the sec was getting a pass because years past. Then everyone would have vote for 12.

The fact that ESPN is releasing this as bad PR on FSU shows you they are biased and trying to smear everyone else because they looked bad. Also that they are in the committees pockets.

“There was a meeting [in June 2021] and everybody was pretty much on board and then the move of Oklahoma and Texas to the SEC occurred and caused mistrust,” Notre Dame president John Jenkins, a member of the CFP governing board, told Yahoo Sports last fall. “That undermined the conversation.”

I'm saying the article isn't presenting the story accurately.

It says the second vote was based on the same model that was voted on the first time, that's incorrect.

There was no vote held on a 12 team playoff model prior to the passage of the current setup.

It's rather clear you didn't bother to read anything, and are just going with what you've made up in your head.

quote:

Nine more months passed before CFP board chair and Mississippi State president Mark Keenum gathered the CFP presidential board together to lead the passage of the expanded playoff — the very same playoff model that had been introduced 16 months before.

Who know who Yahoo works with. Espn threw the story out to make sure everyone blamed FSU and didn't look at what they were up to. Every media outlet copies each other's stories and the writers use them as their chance to do one their way (obviously they are anti FSU or pro Bama). Espn is the one in the middle of it all.

The entire point of your post was that fsu/ACC voted against the expansion sooner and it's their fault the committee voted them out and not ESPN being bias. The same angle and stories have been posted all day since espn brought it up to smear FSU.
