Hogs clinch the series 6-1.

Arkansas is now 8-2 against Texas since resuming annual meetings in 2018.

Figured I’d check in on the last SEC game between SC and Florida. Not great vibes in Columbia.

It’s a “someone is getting fired soon” kind of vibe.

Was worried since Aggies didn’t have an issue in Baum. Hogs showed out this weekend. Good to see. Can’t wait for pitch count to be off for wood, he’s been great the last 2 weeks

B) there are more lsu alumni in Texas than any other state outside of Louisiana. It has nothing to do with the sec and just lsu fans being able to go see their school play because a game is an hour away from where they live

None of this has anything to do with playing tough road games in SEC baseball. Keeping a baseball team of 18-20 yr olds focused for 5 days on the road against a really talented team is what makes it hard. Add in a tough environment like UT, Arky, Ole miss, etc. and it’s almost impossible to win 2/3 on the road.

Your responses show you still don’t get it.

I'd like to think that April is behind us and the March Hogs have re-emerged, but Texas so thoroughly and completely self-destructed that I'm not exactly sure what to read into this series.

Gage Wood is better than ever. He will be the difference for us going forward

Arkansas won the first game of this series. Texas lost the second game.

Funniest part about this weekend is you could have played those 2 games at Disch-Falk and the arse beating would have been the same. Totally shite down our leg for 18 innings. GG Arkansas

At the very least our pitching has been more solid than it has been the last few weeks. Gage Wood being as dominant as he has been the last couple of weeks is certainly a nice positive.

These 18-21 year olds have been going on the road to play baseball their whole lives and staying in hotels for days at a time. Thats just a terrible take. I think you’re the one that doesn’t get it.

If anything it is easier to stay focused on the road than being at home.

Thank you Texas for getting us back on track, also hats off to horns fans here, yall are a good bunch. I’d say good series but it hasn’t been. I actually expected better. But always good to beat the horns

Not sure if it was Gaspo’s fault. Borba kind of forced Gaspo to run to avoid having two runners at one base.

Yeah, that was horrible. Kinda par for the way the 'Horns have played this series so far. Happy to win the series tonight.

That Jonah Williams kid is a freakin' dude, though. 2 sport star and never a game too big for him. INcredible talent.

Most shocking thing is the way the Texas pitching has kinda ran off the rails. All the walks and hit batters was the difference in game 2. Ut came in with a top 5 ERA. Not their best effort so far this weekend.

Texas back in the SWC days always had better squads and it was rare to win a series.

Now the talent level at Arkansas has caught up with Texas and those days of dominating the series is over.

For sure. Our pitching has been solid this weekend. Just didn't expect the 'Horns to help us this much from a pitching and hitting perspective.

Don't get me wrong, our pitching earned it. Just not the games I thought we'd see.

Texas' offense has honestly been pretty mediocre most of the year. They've had really good pitching and closed out a lot of close low scoring games. They remind me a lot of our 2011-2012 teams. I would say 2021, but that was mostly Kopps and I feel like Texas has more pitching depth overall than that team did.

They're 11th in the conference in batting average, 11th in runs scored, 13th in on-base percentage, 11th in RBIs, and 9th in homers.

Coming off of Georgia, Florida, and A&M's lineups I'd wager this feels like a bit of a breather for the staff.

Ummm, no. at 19-4, you still lead the SEC in BASEBALL.

C'mon, you know the hogs been hating you 'Horns way longer than anyone else in the SEC! Still, we respect what you've done so far historically and in your first season in the league. What we saw tonight is not the Texas team that's been atop the standings all year.

Looking forward to a solid game 3!
