He turned down MSU in 2019 and they settled on his former assistant. He may never leave Louisville but would be the best possible hire for you if you can get him.

IMO, McDonnell specializes in every facet of the game. They consistently have legit pitchers.

After the 2021 season when it looked like Bianco to LSU was all but done, our AD had already reached out to him and had a deal in place for us to hire him the same day Bianco was set to announce he was going to LSU. But then LSU changed their minds at the very last second and hired Johnson instead. Ole Miss is probably the only place he would leave Louisville for.

Which is a shocker considering the team they had last year.

Based on what I've heard, LSU was never going to hire Bianco. All of that was a smokescreen.

Some folks wanted him but Woodward specifically thought he was somewhat underwhelming and wouldn't be taking a huge step up in resources available.

Of course, then he won the CWS.

Top 10 team last year. They have played some really good teams this year. There started today is the best we have seen so far this season. He is a pre season all American.
